If i could find a good enough mask, i reckon i could do a pretty good boss nass impersonation

else i'll just turn up in my green jeckat with orange lining, that's sure to get a few laughs

 

Just out of curiosity, has anyone managed to get a confirmation that there WILL be a midnight screening? I know there's like a 99% chance there will be, but I haven't been able to even get that confirmed.

 

I...just assumed there would be....

And slavey - are you going in costume? Slave Leia costume? At school?

 

If we end up having two meets howsa about the friday night?
Tho I would still prefer to go to the midnight one

 

I know I mentioned I might have a meet at my place soon after epII, but it can't be that weekend (I have a 21st in Kiama). The next weekend may be better though.

 

I think everyone was just counting on a couple of sessions within the first few days...

my last class on wednesday gets out at noon, so i'm free after that to stand in line/whatever.

 

Just let me know the decision, and I'll be there. Perhaps as a Mon Cal jedi.

 

I spoke to someone at 20th Century Fox about a month ago who told me that there was to be no "premier" as such, only a special showing for the sydney crew (camera men etc. no celebs) and definatly no general public. Also spoke to Hoyts Broadway who told me Lucasfilm are impossible to work with and that they don't even know if they are putting on a midnight showing like with TPM.

 

Welcome to the forum DP. That's sucky news though, I just wish they'd give us a time and date. At least then we'd know what the earliest session would be. And if they don't go for a 12:01 screening then they're making a huge marketing mistake.

Then again, LFL is known for being a marketing giant (we've used them as an example of good marketing practice in Internet Marketing), so hopefully they'll see the light.

I dunno...its kinda strange, but every Hoyts I talk to seem to be dodging around the issue.

"Uh...I don't know."
"Um...I'll get back to you..."
"I'll have to look into that..."

 

must be the young ones they always say that. the hoyts here has a manager that looka about 12 and he never gives you a straight answer. when i went to see ice age (for the trailer) he was like uh how should i know what trailers are on

 

The one I talked to didn't even know the three weeks ahead thing they've been telling me.

"When are you selling tickets for the new Star Wars movie?"
"Uh...sometime mid-may...I think..."

If he had said "what new Star Wars movie", it probably wouldn't ahve surprised me.

 

Just read on theforce.net that someone is saying lucasfilm are not doing midnight showings in the US, so that may apply here as well (ties in with what Hoyts Broadway told me). In the thread it says it is down to the fact that it is being released worldwide on the same date.
Lets see how true this is!!!

And Thursday morning makes things a bit trickier, and I doubt some people here could wait till Thursday night...

 

i dont see what difference the release date makes because its all done in US time. so that way we can still get a 1201 on the 16th.

it would be a major marketing disaster if they dont, when it comes down to it, they're out to make money and i doubt they'll want to miss out on the extra they'd get from a 1201.

though we never can tell what george has planned.
