originally i'm from california, but i live in sydney's northern beaches now. i've been a huge sw fan ever since i ditched school to see anh (opening day, 1977). i've been to all of the openings (including 2 screenings on opening day in the us and opening days in new zealand and singapore for tpm).

i still hang out in rassm (see rassm homepage) where i've been an active member since 1995.

i've made heaps of costumes, including my latest - jango fett. i need to make a slight change to the colour of the backpack and i need to redo the pistol holsters cos they don't look just right...

oh, fwiw i have a mandalorian death head tattoo on my left leg, too.

Hey Tiel there's no way the US is getting AOTC in April. Their release date is the same as ours (May 16), BUT they will be having a charity screening in about 10 cinemas around the US on May 12. So we get a public release before them, regardless of whether there's no 12:01 screening here in Aust.

 

i was under the impression that the official release was may 16th US time. which would mean we get it late the 16th or 17th.

 

I'll be in the US just after that, got my 3 weeks leave APPROVED

cockatiel - you *have* to go at midnight. it's all about the hype and the bonding (hey, that has bondi in it...). later in the day won't be nearly as fun.

i think im going to make my own costume, just Jedi robes it looks like, my funds are extremely low thanks to Jedi Outcast and a few other recent purchases.

 

Cockatiel - check your international dateline. If we see it at 12:01 am May 16th, we have between 16 and 18 hours on people in the U.S. (depending on which coast). (Sydney = +10:00 GMT, LA = -6:00 GMT, NY = -8:00 GMT)

Edit - or maybe LA and NY are the other way around.. 'twould make more sense that way...

 

Yup your right, typo, we are approx a day ahead of the US.

 

I'm confused now. So are we going as a group and someone is getting the tickets, or are we on our own?

 

i'm gonna be there (fox studios) regardless as i'm sure lots of the rest of the folks. it would be quite cool to do so as a group. i've taken the day before off so i can get into line as early as the nite of the 14th so we can share the time out. i just need some time to don my costume sometime several hours before the screening. i've also taken the 16th off so we can go see it again that day

if we want to wait for tickets i can help as well.

I'm trying to find out, through a contact in the know, when Hoyts will be selling tickets. Only problem is there giving him the run around as well. B******S!

THANK YOU!!!! Finally people are beginning to understand what I've been saying for the past 3 months!

But, I got this news: apparently, they will be releasing the ticket sale date next Thursday. If that's the public day they're telling people, then we may know earlier if we bug them enough.

I'd say start calling in earnest on TUESDAY.

im on the central coast. used to have to travel down there everyday. wasnt much fun.
