AOTC/Saga Variants *Official Thread*

I am not a big variant chaser but I have noticed a few already and just wanted to pass along what I have noticed......

1. The most obvious one is the insert card in some of the figures

2. The R2-D2 leg variant

3. R2-D2 with no try me hole in the blister!!

4. The super battle droid has two different finishes
the one with the card insert has a shiny finish on his body and the one without the card insert has a matte finish on his body.

5 There are also some sticker ones on Dexter and Luminara???

anyway I just thought if anyone had any more they could post them here...........

 

I got all my stuff last night at 12 and then went to sleep. I gotta check this stuff out. I didn't even know R2D2 made sounds!!!

 

I got:
-R2 both leg styles
-Amidala with and without birthmark on face
-Jango fett on Multi-Lingual card @ sticker!
-Some figs w/ card inserts, some without

I heard of but haven't seen:
-Super Battle Droid no sticker on back
-Amidala cuts on stomach

Can anyone confirm or add?

 

i have the jango, obi-wan and battle droid multi-lingual!!!

 

I have one Anakin Hangar Duel with a sticker that says: "with Dueling Lightsaber Action"

and another Anakin Hangar Duel with a sticker that says: "with Secret Battle Feature"

I haven't heard of this anywhere else? Anybody else notice this?

 

Any feedback as to whether the insert/non-insert versions are the ones to get? I picked up two Plo-Koons today after work before I noticed many of the figues were the same way.

 

I have Kit Fisto, Clone Trooper, Padme without card insert.

 

Does anyone know if there are any sites that have info/rarity on any of these figures? I saw a bunch of the alternate R2's but wonder exactly how uncommon they really are?

 

The Packaging Variants I've noted are-

Some have Backdrop Inserts, others don't.
Some say only "4+" in the Top Right of the Card
Others have "Warning - Chocking hazard, Blah Blah, Blah"

 

Found Kit Fisto, one in brilliant Green and one in dull Green. At Walleys it was 1 brilliant Green to 8 Dull. I kept the brilliant Green and gotta think its the variant. What did you guys find?

 

Well, I bought two Jango Fetts. One had the scenery insert in the back, the other didn't. On the one that has the scenery insert, his beard is almost nonexistant, and on the other one, it's full and black.

 

I got two of the new clonetroopers and I noticed that on one of my clonetroopers (red), on the outside of the right arm bicep armor, it has a small circle in it and one without.

Any ideas if this is a variation or what? It is not a paint error, because the circle is carved in the armor and the circle is to perfectly shaped to me a mold error.

I have found all but the last 4 with the inserts......has anyone found the last 4 listed????

 

So what exactly is up with the background picture inserts in certain packages? Are the figure more rare or not as rare if they have them?

i think its widely believed the cardboard inserts are no longer produced.

 

ahawk12, thanks for the comparrison pic. now, which is rarer? and, could u have this:
r2 outer circle on leg with backdrop
r2 outer circle on leg without backdrop

r2 indented circle on leg without backdrop

???

I'm so glad I'm not big into variants. ouch!

 

Out of all the figures I bought, only 2 have inserts -- Typho and Boba.

I did see (on the net somewhere) that all of those variations of the R2 are supposed to be out there. The key word being "SUPPOSED" to be. I haven't seen them all. I got one of each with the leg thing.One had an insert and the other one didn't....so I don't really know?

I am not out to find all of the variants so I am good with what I have. Thankfully.

 

Could someone please post a picture of the birthmark Padme Amidala? I think I picked one up (by total accident) earlier today.

Also, I haven't seen a background card on any figure above #16. I did, however, check out the different colored Kit Fisto's tonight, and the only difference I could tell is that some of them had the yellow highlights missing. This didn't seem like enough of a variation to buy, for me at least.

 

Figures with cards;
I have not seen those last four figures with cards.

Padme birthmark;
The birthmark is right on her left cheeckbone, hard to miss. I got one with a insert card and a birthmark, and then one with neither, didn't notice if the other combinations were available.

 

I have Tusken Female and Dexter Jettster with inserts.

 

I got six figures, and only my Boba Fett had an insert. It doesn't matter much to me anyway either, as I open absolutely everything.

my luminara has a piece of sticker covering the word "REMOVABLE" robes.

are anyones's removable?!?!?!
mine are not
