Chic, IL Apocalyptica in Chicago and a possible visit from an old Milwookee

Hey all,

Remember me? I know its been like forever since I've visited anyone from this board. So sorry, life has been insane and I am now going stir crazy down here in SE Kansas.

Anyways, on March 20th, my favorite band, Apocalyptica, a Finnish heavy metal cello group (yes you read that correctly) is doing their first ever tour in the States and will be playing at Schubas. I was wondering, if anyone would like to come with me? Or at least see about getting together somewhere to chat for a while.

There is nothing to do here. Which is probably one of the reasons I've been taking many road trips just so I can stay sane and get to something that isn't all farms and very small towns.

And Bosh, I've never heard of the other groups you mentioned, but would be interested in listening to some of them sometime (if I could actually find a CD of something other than Country down here). So would you be interested in escorting a crazy fangirl (me, in case you were wondering) to see Apo anyways, and then make fun of her as she faints over Perttu? *winks*

I thought you were just googling for the bands.

In any event, I'm curious about the band, but not $20 curious. If the dates work,I'd be up for pre-concert drink or dinner or what-have-you.

 

Bobafemme, the gig is $10 in advance for a ticket, and $13 at the door. And trust me, the music is well worth it. Not to mention, the guys are very decrative.

I plan on getting to Chicago the day before, and not planning on leaving for a few days, because its a long drive to SE Kansas, so getting together for lunch or dinner would also be nice. I really do miss my Chicago friends.

 

So wait... what are you doing in SE Kansas, again? I ask merely for information.

 

Basically, I got really behind on bills and junk. My father lives here and offered for me to live here until I could get caught up. Its nice having someone else paying things like the rent, phone bill and electric and I don't have to worry about if those are going to get cut off this month. So I'm working part time, looking for a full time job, and going stir crazy because there is nothing in this town.

 

Hey Devan, nice to hear from you again. I thought you were abducted by , well is the same being in Kansas. I got a friend down in Lawrance.

 

I see that the Apocalyptica show is sold out. But, how about a dinner before the show at Harmony Grill?
