SWRPF Archive Apocolypse: From Dust to Dust

"Here we are." As clouds zoomed past the view port there came up readings of one big settlement. "set a course to that city."

 

IC:

As the Triumph made it's way to the settlement, Derek ran to his ship. He took out a charric rifle, two charrics, four thermal detonators and one vibroblade. For Pyk, he took out two blaster pistols, one thermal detonator and one forcepike. He wanted to be ready for anything.

After giving Pyk his weapons he asked, "Know how to handle these?"

"I've been on Nar Shadda long enough to know a few things about killing," Pyk responded.

"Nice to know," Derek said. He turned to the pirates, "Land us in an area with enough cover. I don't want to return to find this ship reduced to cinders."

Varns took the ship and landed it in the outskirts where the trees covered the ship. He started walking toward the city. when they got there, he got his weapons ready, just in case. He saw the cantina where he was supposed to meet his contact and started toward it.

 

IC:

Derek walked up to the pirate leader. "I have an idea. Why don't you and your men wait outside and cover me while I talk to the gentleman? I was thinking we would be intimidating them too much to bring your pirates into the establishment. Of course you can come in with me."

The freighter carring the barabels, noghri, and pirate came out of hyperspace over the planet. They could tell another ship had just arrived by the ion trail in the atmosphere. The aliens followed the trail down beneath the clouds and began searching for a place to land. They landed beyond the city limits of a place called Kerians Post, where the other ship probably set down. wo barabels were left to guard the ship and the pirate as the rest spread out into the city.

 

OOC: is jase still asleep?

IC: "all right all of you stay outside of the cantina." Varns walked into the cantina letting the smell of the drinks reach him.

IC as Derek Fel

Derek headed walked to the bar with the pirate leader behind him. At the bar he called the barkeep, "I'm here to get some info about a certain shipment. You know what I'm talking about?" he said slipping 10 credits to the bartender.

The bartender scowled and Derek gave him 40 more. The bartender now grinned, "I don't know what you're talking about. But I think he does," he says pointing to a man smoking in a booth.

"Thank you very much," Derek then walked to the man in the booth.

"What do you want?" the man growled.

"Hmm you were supposed to ask me the time."

"You got the time?" he finally asked.

"Sunny and warm with a chance of snow."

"But the Jawas are hard to tame."

"You have something for me?"

The man just slipped a datacard. Derek inserted it and read the manifest.

Derek couldn't contain his smile, with these materials he could help rebuild the Empire. After reading it again Derek turned and walked out of the cantina with the pirate by his side.

"I have the info," he declared. "We better leave ASAP."

TAG RDG, Barabel

 

OOC: I thought shadoloo already haas those materials to ship.

IC: "alright lets go." Varns said as he saw some barabels and Nogrhi charging at his fellow pirates. "We've got company!" He said as he drew his blaster. "Wait. If most of the Barabels are here, then their ship has few or no guards. This could be our chance to save Jase!" Varns said quietly to Derek so none of the Barabels would hear.

 

The barabels and Noghri fired blasters and stun bolts at the pirates loitering outside the cantina. Five went around behind the building to head off anyone who was already inside. The pirates fought as well as they could, but had trouble peircing the barabel's hides and hitting the agile noghri.

"There were more of them on Nar Shadda." Fade told Pike.

"What are you thinking?"

"Send another group back to the ship, and move into the cantina to find anyone who is already in there. Have those around back move in as well. Try not to kill them, but it doen't matter if you do. The people inside the cantina probably aren't armed. This planet is too poor for them to afford weapons."

 

IC: Jase woke up tied up in the cargo hold of the Barbels ship.

OOC: lets just say that Jase got clothes.

IC: Because of lack of dentistry since he reached Nar Shadaa about 2 weeks ago, a tooth was falling out. He got it loose with his toung and spit it out into his hand. He picked it up and started chisling the ropes binding his wrists. After a long while, the rope was thin enough to break. One guard was standing above him and the other outside guarding the ship. Jase got loose and waited untill the guards blaster was not pointed directly at him and he tried to sweep the Barabel down with his leg.

 

Jase's foot impacted against it's target, but not with the expected result. The alien's leg was like a metal post, and did not give to the human's foot. The pirate kicked up with his other foot, knocking the blaster away and scrambling to his feet.

"Foolish human. That was a mistake." The barabel hissed. It reached out with both hands, with incredible speed, to grab the human's arms and holding him down. The guard calling for assistance from his companion through a comlink, to help in tieing up the pirate again.

"Had you not struggled, you may have left our company today. I am sure the captain won't be happy about you ruining a perfectly good rope"

 

Jase ues his foot to slide the blaster to him. He got it and fliped forward trying to get out of the grip.

 

As the pirate tried to slip out of the barabel's grip, another set of hands curled around his waist and legs, and one alien hand reached out to the blaster to disarm the pirate

"Derek, if we get the ship, I think we can scare them off with a torpedo. Tell your friend to go."

 

A team of barabels and noghri caught up to the pirate and the Imperials as they were running to their ship, they surrounded the humans and threw flash-bang grenades, and shot stun bolts at the humans

Biography: Gorin Was, and still is, an oppertunist at heart. He spent the entire Vong War playing both sides for whoever could pay more, always manageing to avoid being swatted by either side. His Ship, The Gorin's Glory, was produced during the war by Kuat yards, the only one with any chance of reproducing it, if gorin haden't removed the files. his ship is unique in that it's 2 Turbolasers, One Fore mounted, one Aft mounted, are hidden behind sensor sheilded Panels, so when figter take a frontal run at it, which is common due to the fact that it's Adv. Concussion missle tube is in the back and the Quad cannons on the sides, he can flip out the Turbolaser, hopefully blowing it to bits before the fighter can evade. Even if it doesn't as the figher flys over the back one can take a second shot. This tactic, called hidden deployment, is gorin's favorite to use agains convoys protected by only hyperdrive capable fighters, which he robs on a regular basis. When the government's fell he lost alot of prey as convoy's of equipment became more and more rare. He's right now looking for work, either as a hired gun, or as a smuggler, willing to carry cargo anywhere, for a price.

Credits: 500,000 C.
Savings from the war, he refuses ti dig too deply into them in case his ship needs massive repairs or becomes inoperable.

So, what do you think? Ok? or do i need to do something about the Sensor Sheilded Panels and the Fighter bay? Also is the startiong credit amount right?

 

OOC: Shadoloo doesn't have the materials to ship. He hasn't even reached Raltiir yet.

IC:

Derek took out earplugs for himself and Pyk and covered his face. He could still see but not as well. The stun bolts hit his light armor and didn't faze him. He jumped over Pyk to take the stun bolts for him.

He then pulled out a thermal detonator and signalled Pyk to pull out his own. They both the grenades at the Barabels and Noghri currently blocking their path.

While doing this he hit the beckon call on his comlink. He didn't have a fully tricked out system that would allow him to control his ship. He could only call it.

OOC: Gorin, WW is not here for the weekend but he left me in charge.

One thing WW stated was that all ships of all classes would start out with a Class One power generators. An escort class can only have 200 points max. Your Gorin's Glory is above that cap. Your fighters are also above the cap, but only by 5 points.

Also I think your amount of credits is high. 100, 000 credits is alrady alot. So maybe you could change it to somewhere below 100, 000. Most of the other players don't have that many credits.

 

One of the pirates did not react and got hit by a stun bolt. Varns dived back avoiding one. He knew There were not to many guards at the Barabels ship now, so he started running away from everyone. He threw a thermal detonator at the enemys who followed and took out a hand held scanner and scanned for a ship.

 

OOC: How is gorin's Glory over the cap? is it the Panels and the Fighter bay?

Also i will start with 94,000 Credits then.

EDIT: Ijust totaled up the Fighters and they are exactly 100, a class one generator for a fighter. Did i do something wrong?

 

OOC:

All ships start out with a Class One power generator. The Gorin's Pride is an Escort class, and an Escort class Class One power generator can provide 200 points. Each component costs points, and you have to many components. And it isn't the panels and fighter bays. It's the weapons, shields, engines, that kind of stuff. Look at other ships and compare them to the chart on the first post.

 

I just added up the points on it too, and it's exactly 200. Each point listing after the weapons is the total for thos eweapons like this.

2 Turbolasers, 40 Points

That means that i have 2 Trubolasers, totaling 40 points, their 20 points each. I just totaled it up and i got 220, same on the fighters and i came up with 100. Check your math or i just messed up somewhere on my math, but i've gone over it 3 times now.
