I'm not sure how many Mac users are here, but for those who are, tell us about what you use and the specific model, if possible :).

I checked Powerbook, because that's my newest machine (sans iPod :)).

I bought one of the early grayscale Powerbooks back in 1993 and used it for about five years. Then I bought one of the original iMacs in August 1998. (That next weekend I got hooked up to the internet and discovered TF.N and the JC.) I bought a G4 Power Mac in 2000, and a G3 iBook in 2002 - both of which still get used a fair amount.

    I got my Powerbook in March 2004. It's a G4 1.25 MHz, 1 GB RAM, 80 GB HD.

    iBook G4

I grew up on Apple/Macs. They were always my family's. This iBook, however, is officially mine. I need it for college. I do remember the Apple 2E and Mac Classics though. They were fun. We just kept getting newer and newer computers. Before we got computers 2nd hand, but recently we've purchased computers news because it's essential rather than a novelty like it use to be.

PowerMac and PowerBook here - I do a lot of video editing and once I used a Mac for it I've never gone back. I still use a PC for some things but more and more is being done on the Mac(s) lately. (Especially at college where I can use several at once. :D :-B )

I own a beautiful G5 iMac, 1.8Ghz. Heaps of HD space, about 400GB, but not much RAM. Only 512. I need more as I primarily use it for LogicPro.

I've used Macs all my life and I can't see that changing any time soon.

Congrats on your new iBook, KW.! :)

I always buy more RAM when purchasing a computer. I have 1 GB in my Powerbook.

Our first computer was a mac and it still runs. It's at least 12 years old and my parents still do taxes on it.

Hee, get into digital video and that changes soooo fast. What you thought was lots of space is gone the next day. ;)

Same here - I have just under 1 GB in mine but more is always better. :D

Heh, well my music recording takes up a lot of space also, but certainly not quite as much as digital video. But I agree, soon terrabyte HDs will be the norm.

I can't wait for that day. I know what you mean about the digital music files too - those can get quite large. :-B

    I have an iBook G4 that's about a year old now. ;)

Of course, I've gotten to play with PowerMacs, PowerBooks, and MacBook Pros at work, but sadly I only get to use them for an hour or so before some lucky professor gets them.
