Jango Fett ain't the only comic coming out in April :p

    From TOS:

Adapted by Henry Gilroy (The Phantom Menace adaptation) with art by Jan Duursema (Star Wars: Darth Maul) and Ray Kryssing (Star Wars: Darkness), the events of Attack of the Clones will be told in dazzling illustrations. Each of the adaptation's four 48-page issues will come in both a photo cover version and a version with cover art by Tsuneo Sanda (Star Wars Tales trade paperback #1). The first two issues will be on stands on April 24, as will the trade paperback collecting the entire story. (Caution: remember not to pull a Homer Simpson while standing in line for the movie.)

One of the key players from Episode II is spotlighted in his own mini-series. Long before he was the deadliest bounty hunter of his time, Jango Fett was an orphaned farm boy from the Outer Rim. Taken in by elite Mandalorian warriors, Fett was offered a chance to exact vengeance against the Death Watch that slew his family. Star Wars: Jango Fett - Open Seasons #1 is the first of four issues, told by Haden Blackman (Starfighter - Crossbones) with art by Ramon F. Bachs (Jedi vs. Sith) and Raul Fernandez (Crossbones), with cover art by Bachs. It is scheduled to hit comic stores on April 24.

Before the Episode II excitement begins, Vilmarh Grahrk has to get to the end of his bewildering tale, as told in the pages of the ongoing Star Wars comic. This shady grifter's reputation is becoming untarnished, what with word of him hooking up with the Jedi Quinlan Vos. Villie sets the record straight, explaining how he defeated a Dark Jedi, and why he took Vos on as his apprentice. The conclusion of "The Devaronian Version" appears in Star Wars #41, by John Ostrander, Davidé Fabbri and Christian Dalla Vacchia, with cover art by Kilian Plunkett. It is scheduled for release on April 17.

Issues #5 ? 8 of the quarterly anthology series Star Wars Tales are compiled into a trade paperback collection, featuring stories about Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, the Jedi Council, Yoda, Han Solo and a cast of thousands! This 224-page volume includes such talents as Kevin Rubio, Terry Moore, Iain Edginton, Carlos Meglia, Tony Millionaire, Jan Duursema, Mark Schultz, John Ostrander, Kilian Plunkett and many more! It is scheduled for release on May 1.

The adaption will be four 48-page issues. Cool! And the first 2 will be out 3 weeks before the film!

Also, from the sounds of it, the Ongoing might be fast-forwarding to AotC time after April.

Oh, and something about Jango and Mandalorians will be coming out too ... ;)

How do you figure? All we know is that the Devaronian Version is about Villie lying about his involvement in the previous stories, and that after that the flashback stories are over. No word yet on if it picks up again 7 or 8 years before AotC, or right before AotC or what.

Whoah. This adaptation is twice the length of TPM adaptation, IIRC. This is 4 48-page issues....wow...

    Not a-frickin-gain!

When are LFL going to get it righht with the release of movie adaptations.

Last time we had the book and other merchandise out 2 months before the UK release. To avoid that happening Ep 2 is supposedly being released worldwide simultaneously May 6.

Releasing the adaptation 2-3 weeks before seems to ignore the lesson of the past. The movie adaptation ought to come out, at the earliest, at the time of the movie, not 2-3 weeks before.

Just when I'd thought LFL had learnt from the TPM merchandise fiasco...

The fiasco of timing amongst other things:

US release of TPM: May 1999
UK release of TPM: July 1999

Release of merchandise: May 1999 in BOTH countries and elsewhere I presume.

It was a total minefield, especially the TPM Soundtrack, released in May, a casual buyer takes a look and reads "Qui-Gon's noble end". Well that's that guy spoiled.

When I heard Ep 2 was going to be worldwide simultaneous release, I thought: great! That means we won't have what happened last time...

Hah, now look what's going to happen...
