April Meeting

    Just sending out a reminder that April's meet is scheduled for this weekend, the 19th. I'm assuming that it will be at TK's complex again? Anyway, the ballots for the election have been made and I'll be dropping them off to someone in the group, be it either TK or Steve, before Friday. If you want to know who is running for what positions, check out the March meeting minutes.

    I will not be able to make this meet as I am going on vacation on Saturday to Niagara Falls and won't be back until the following Wednesday. I'll fill out a ballot and seal it in an envelope so it can be counted on Sunday. So if anyone would like to take the minutes for this month, I'd greatly appreciate it!

    I'll be happy to record and post the meeting minutes for this month. Let me know if you want to drop the ballots off here. Maybe we can arrange to play some pocketmodels with James if you have time...

    If TK's doesn't work for Sunday, I can offer to host here. As for items on the agenda, I suggest we talk about the state of the budget and prioritizing upcoming expenditures -- non-profit filing, shirts, FCBD, website. TK, please let me know what amount you are still holding so I put together an accurate report. Thanks!

    Hello All!

    Well I'm back I had to go to lovely Presque Isle ME. For the last 4 day. Very nice.... NOT! lol Boy is that store a long way's a way. They are 10 min. from Canada. We tried to go but we did not have out birth Cert. So they would not let us. :( Oh well...lol

    So for Sunday... It works for me to have it here. No Problem. I start my vacation as well as John on Saturday night. Yeah me!!! But I'm not going anywhere... aaaahhhhhhhh. :(

    So Sunday is good. I'd like to have it a little earlier if possible? If we could start around 10/11 am would be good. I have to be done by 3pm/4. I have to pick up the kids that afternoon at the in-laws. They will be there for the weekend. You guy's are more than welcome to stay and hang out. You can keep doing stuff till a get back. What every you'd like. But other than that we are good for the day.

    So my place is all set, just let me know. Same place... bring food and drink if you'd like. I can show you all the NEW armor set i have made and you guy's can let me know what you think. I have the shop area all cleaned up.... nice and pretty. lol

    Ok... see you all Sunday. Call if you all need anything.

    Your telling me. What a hole in the wall. But the store there makes a TON of $$$/ Ithink because it the ONLY thing in town. THey have no one else. NO game stop, Best Buy. Only a Walmart. Boy would that be nice.

    The meeting is back to the reg. time. It will be from 12pm to 5pm. If you'd like to come early you may. I know I'll be working in the shop most likely. I will be picking up the girl in the morning before the meeting. So again back to reg. time. 12pm to 5 pm. Ok if anyhone needs anything let me know.

    As for a head count on this meeting it looks like for now it is Myself, Brandon ,Steve & James? I have word from Andy they will not be able to make it. They have send over they votes for the meeting sealed with Brandon. As well as Pete's vote. He will not be making this meeting as well for he is off to a gaming convention in CT. this weekend. (Good Luck Pete) and we all know John is not coming for he is in NY. So it will be a very loose meeting this month. We'll cover a few items on the board and go from there.

    If anyone wish to bring any thing to work on please do so. We'll have the shop for the day and I'll be more than glad to help out any way I can. Till Tomorrow.

    Sounds good. Since we voted to adopt the guidlelines last time, I figure that we'll start tracking attendance beginning with thei meeting. Just a friendly reminder that voting priveledges are tied to 50% attendance. But, good luck Pete with the game! I also have printed out a "state of the budget" to share. Shouldn't take long to go over.

    I will be there and will likely bring my armor down to work on. Giving James and Amanda a call now to see if they will be attending too...

    In reference to the t-shirt discussion that e had at the meeting yesterday:
    I have some shirt news that may be of interest to us. I found some of Amanda's Republic Management polo shirts that she used to use for her catering staff for those summer cook-outs. They are white, short-sleeve, three-button polo-style, 100% cotton (already washed several times). Much nicer and heavier than plain white t-shirts. They have the Republic Managment logo emboidered on the breast which we can unstitch with ease. She asked me to throw them away because the Republic company was bought by a different company recently and they can't use the shirts anymore. I have 1 large, 4 medium and 5 small shirts. These are great quality shirts and I hope we could use them for our group memeber shirts.

    Please let me know what you think. Ask at Shirtmasters when you go if we could use these. Again, the price is right!

    In other meeting-related news, as the new webmaster, I would welcome your photo submissions if you want to send me stuff on cd. I don't know what format we will need yet. Please also fee free to suggest content. I will start a thread for website ideas.

    You never said which side of Niagara Falls you were going to? To me it's in NY. :p

    Hope your trip is going well. The meeting went well. Steve should have note shortly? The first hour we covered old notes....

    - T shirts
    - Non-profit

    Stuff like that. I do not yet know the vote out come? We did not have Amanda's vote and places all the vote in and envelopes and gave them to James to hold till he rec. her vote. I would think once he has it he will post them?

    Other than that we vacuumed out the new models for the Fett helmets. Don't get to worked up. They need a lot of work first. It was just the 1st run. But they came out ok. Pretty nice. But again they still need work before they are made available to everyone. Let me phase that .... Available for everyone to buy.

    We also help Steve get some clean up going on his armor. I think it is coming nicely so far. That was the day for the most part.

    Trust me when I say that the NY side of the falls is a SLUM. Don't waste your time going there if you go to the falls. All the action is on the Canadian side. Not only do you get the best views, all the casinos and the best hotels are on that side as well. It also has Clifton Street aka Little Vegas, and all the cool attractions are on the Canadian side as well.

    So is the reason for the delay a Florida recount? ;) No prob. When they're up, they're up! :D

    I'm glad to be back home! Though I'm seriously going through hockey withdrawl!! :_|

    I should be able to type up the minutes later today....

    I went to the Alton Business Association meet & greet last night. There was a woman there who does embroidery out of her home. I asked her about set-up fees for digitizing images. She assured me that it would cost between $45-70 to have a complex image digitized. She does not require a minimum order. Might be a good fit if we decide to use the free polo shirts James and Sy Snootles have. They could be our imperial issue dress uniforms for fancy events....

    I was wondering if it would be too much trouble to see how the votes went. As far as I understand we were waiting to get one vote when James got home with all the other votes. James did you make it home OK? :confused: Do we gata send out a search party?:D I think some of us are a bit curiouse.

    MEETING MINUTES 4/19/09

    In attendance: TK, Brandon, Steve, James

    Discussed:

    (1) non-profit filing, in particular expected level of annual income. this is important for determing the filing fees.
    (2) Based on projected income, we will likely shoot to participate as a non-profit at 4 events/shows each year: Portsmouth, Granite Con, Super Mega Fest, and Free Comic Book Day.
    (3) Fan Boys movie night hosted by Darth Cobern (see other board)
    (4) Fan Boys movie release event proposed for FYE in Steeplegate Mall on Saturday 5/23. All those who can attend in costume shoudl contact TK
    (5) T-Shirts: We decided to go with shirtmasters in Chichester to silkscreen out logo on shirts. Costs would be roughly $10 per shirt, including set up costs and the actual shirt.
    (6) Website: We need a domain name. We came up with 4 options. TK was going to claim one that is available and proceed to meet with Jetpacks to set up the site. James volunteered to become our webmaster and to go with TK to assist with website setup.
    (7) FCBD: Confirmed members to attend at TK and Brandon. Andy and Tara may attend. We will have a raffle that day. TK has offered to donate a Darth Vader helmet and we decided to use $20-30 of club funds to purchase a current toy or lego set to also raffle. Steve needs to get the tickets and the cash box to TK.
    (8) Business cards: As soon as we have a domain name, we should each order free business cards from vista print that include the group name (no individuals), gmail address, website, and board address.
    (9) All present voted on executive positions. James took ballot home for Sy. Let the hunt for Darth Cobern commerce to obtain the results. I think there may have been a hanging Chad Vader.

    After the business portion (about an hour), we worked on various costuming projects as TK mentioned in a prior post. It was a good meeting, in my opinion!

    As for counting the votes:
    Item #1: As of this post, Sy Snootles has not yet voted, despite numerous pleadings with her to do so. She's a Republican, what do you expect?
    Item #2: Do we need an official tallying of votes? As I have been nominated for a position, should I confer with someone else when I count the votes? Perhaps SCAR can pop over for five minutes to officiate, or I can bring the ballots to the Baron's party tomorrow for a fun-filled bithday activity.

    I want to throw out a thanks to James for coming over for the B-day party last night. Along with the neighbors and a couple of other friends we had a nice little group! Dianna did up a great clone trooper cake (pics will follow) and also made up some Star Wars goodie bags that included a Captain Rex kite, Clone Wars Tactics pocketmodel packs, stickers, masks and party favors. For dinner we had hot dogs, hamburgers, salsa and chips and lots of soda. We also watched the Star Wars Deleted Magic DVD I picked up at Supermegafest. All in all, it was a good night! :D

    Hey John,

    I glad you had a great B-Day. I'm sorry I did not make it. :( but it was on the same weekend as Sophie's B-day. So she sadly beat you out for who comes first. lol She's just a little cuter than you is all. ;)

    But I'm am glad you had a good time. Again Happy 40th. !!! =D=

    I to would like to thanks everyone that took the time to vote in this year elections. I'd like to thank everyone for their votes. I promise I will continue do my very best for the group for the next two year in office. Congrat's to all you others on your elected positions as all. I belive we are now headed in the right direction as a group and look forward to growing bigger and better in the future.
