I had the same reaction with Goosebumps. That show is nostalgia defined for me. Though watching the first few episodes, I can't help but laugh at it :p

Here's something more recent, but equally memorable, to memorize.

Oh yeah, Rescue Rangers! That's another one that I have on DVD that's just as good as it was in the olden days.

(I also have TaleSpin -- which was sadly a huge disappointment)

I freely acknowledge the cartoons I watched growing up were mostly garbage - aka Hannah-Barbera's output in the 70s - and focus on buying the cartoons I wish I'd had at the time, like Adventure Time.

What? Talespin was/remains awesome! I'd put it up at the best of the disney cartoons, along with Ducktales and Darkwing Duck. CnDRR was pretty good too.

Are we playing the catchy intro game?

My kids still watch a lot of the older cartoons; Tom and Jerry and some of the Looney Tunes stuff. My oldest is also a big Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Underground and Sonic X fan.

I came *this* close to posting that last night.

I wish Ubisoft would forget about ACIV and use the engine to make a PoDW game, instead. ;)

Actually I would favor a Bioware RPG set in Mer, there is even an old RPG Guide out there for Pirates of Dark Water they could use as base. :)

But... but... SHIP-TO-SHIP COMBAT! EXPLORING ISLANDS! :(

A GIANT MAP ON WHICH TO HUNT THE THIRTEEN TREASURES!

    Okay, I'll stop shouting, now.

Sacrilege. Hong Kong Phooey was the shiz. He was the number one super guy, after all.

I had my picture taken with him at Kings Island. Ah, memories.

I love the 70s children's shows. I lived for Land of the Lost and the rest of Sid and Marty Krofft's weirdness. This totally opened the door for the things we see now.

What did the shotgun do to deserve that kind of attack? Poor thing. :(

I refuse to believe that TaleSpin could be disappointing.

Also, as long as we're posting cartoon intros, I must post the greatest cartoon intro of all time:

Arrgghh, the poor animation, the bad voice acting, the nonsensical stories...

    Let's see - my 'favorites'?

    1. Jabberjaws - A talking, walking shark that is a deliberate cross between Curly of the Three Stooges and Rodney Dangerfield, who travels with a teen band touring underwater cities.
    2. Gilligan's Planet - The Professor builds a spaceship to escape an island and maroons them on another planet.
    3. Three Stooges - The US military builds three robots with the personality of the Three Stooges and are constantly mad they keep acting like the Three Stooges.

Whereas the 90s gave us shows like Animaniacs, or Beetlejuice, or Peter Pan and the Pirates.

Edit: Thanks, Havac - how could I have forgotten B:TAS?

Nah, Wonder Woman was where it was at - lots of action, beating up Nazis, and... well, Linda Carter.

    Because blackmyron demanded it.

    I miss minute-long intros.

And just because, the reason I STILL TO THIS DAY know all 50 states and capitals:

How about William Drakespeare? That veered into Mister Freeze territory, that one...
