Still hammering out the proportions, but I have a basic design.

 

Yeah that whole trilogy was such poor filler. They just looked at all the stuff from Bantam and threw as much of it in as they could for filler.

 

I remember being disappointed the third book didn't involve the Nagai or Tofs to complete the pre-NJO alien invasion retrospective.

Boring filler aside, revisiting dangling plot threads from the Bantam era and using the YV invasion to wrap them up wasn't a bad idea, it was just very poorly placed and killed a lot of the narrative's momentum.

 

If SW actually did that I would evaporate from pure happiness.

 

The greatness of Traitor, Destiny's Way, and The Unifying Force make it all better.

This Lost promo kind of reminds me of the back end of the series.


It's even more uptempo than Gene Wilder's acid trip.

 

Ugh the season 6 promos were so much better than the actual season.

Edit: BTW ~ a more cynical person might say that the same is true of the prequels.

I started working on an Abra, at least the face. I'm making them into bipedal armadillo goats, so an Abra was based on a lamb. Still needs tweaked some more.

 

For some reason I get a Samael vibe from your Abra

 

Technically it's Incubus -- or more appropriately, Baphomet.


Samael is kind of a misnomer derived from Dahlia's BS, since the Seal of Metatron isn't the Mark of Samael.

Edit: Huh, apparently Downpour went with the Samael name.

 

Too bad Samael was a unique name compared to incubus. Oh well if Silent Hill made any sense then it wouldn't be as interesting.

 

Yes. But then they realize the Brrbrlpp are people, and save them instead of accidentally slaughtering them. Truly the greatest imaginable use of Han and Leia in the antepenultimate book of an epic saga.

Yeah, as I've said, it's a pretty good concept for the first half of the series, but is disastrous placed where it was.

 

I didn't know that existed but it's a brilliant was to point out the silliness of applying canon to Doctor Who as well as a nice nod in the direction of Moore's "They're all stories" quote.

BTW, I have to once again thank everyone who recommended PERSON OF INTEREST to me...holy cats, that is some good TV. I don't even remember who it was on here who was singing the praises of it and finally tipped me over the edge into watching it but I'm savoring every episode as I work towards getting caught up.

 

I'm going to be away for the next three days, people.

I agree, episode 2x12 was shown here last Tuesday and it was brilliant. I really like the way various plotlines intercept and actually get resolved once in a while. I just hope that the series can tell the story it means to tell and then stop (hopefully not in many seasons). Too often TV-shows either get cancelled prematurely or continue too long without resolution so they end with low note.

Elias and Kara in the same episode would have been enough, but there was also the awesome Fusco sideplot with Karolina Kurková (I want gifs of "Only one of us will get out. Run now."), and they got me with the pseudo-ending between Reese and Carter when Donnelly showed up. I thought that the episode ended there and walked away, then suddenly realized that there were no credits and the clock was only 9.45.
