Hmm, in that case just listen to an economics podcast. You either fall asleep or bash your head into your desk until you knock yourself out. Either way, you win.

I once tried to use Dany's chapters from A Dance WIth Dragons as a sleep aid. It sorta worked.

Hmm, maybe because I've only read them once, but I don't remember any part of ADWD being that slow. Though of course I wouldn't have objected to it being faster [face_blush]

I don't know, Tyrion recounting all the exotic flowers he comes across is pretty intense.

I actually enjoyed Tyrion's travelogue- to me, it was the equivalent of Tolkien writing a few chapters set in Rhun, Far Harad, and places beyond.

    Yeah dude, the
ethnography and geography of the East
was pretty much the best part of the book!

I earned the title Countess in the Battle Chateau. What title are you up to, GrandAdmiralJello?

And the Fennekin and Charmander have gotten homes last night. I'm breeding my Absol and Eevee, though. Got a Ditto through Wonder Trade.

I think my problems with the Tyrion sections of ADWD- and by extension, the entire book and AFFC as well- was that in comparison to the tightly plotted preceding books, it just felt very meandering. I realize this is because Martin wrote himself into a corner in some ways and had to take some time (so much time) in order to get himself out of it, though because of this the books really suffer as standalone volumes. No doubt they'll read better as set up for what's to come.

    Nice!

I'll need to storm it with my Absol and get her leveled up for the next gym. She's in the daycare with my Ditto.

Oh really now? XD Don't worry, you'll have your turn with my Ditto soon enough...

In these political correct times, and due to equality of all 'isms, Kevin Sorbo is actually practising for the role of Xena.

Yo, Rome 2 players- Nomadic faction pack is free if you download it before the 29th. Looking at their unit rosters, they're entirely cavalry-based. Which is pretty much how I played my Parthia campaign.
