Are Clawcraft the same craft Thrawn's Phalanx use?

Are they? They seem quite similar, but I remember Zahn saying something about 2 turbolasers underneath the cockpit and also that each craft carried 2 pilots...

I thought they were. It is specifically said that the Mittithrawnuruodo Phalanx uses Chiss clawcraft, so how could there be a difference?

 

I too thougth that they were the strange ships that befundled our heros in HoT.

I mean, I know that The Hand uses Clawcraft, but are Clawcraft the same ships we see in NoT duology? Didn't Zahn mention that thay had TIE wings? I'll have to go back and check.

 

The Clawcraft is not the same as the Chiss craft seen in the HoT. The craft used in HoT was actually more like a medium size shuttle than a starfighter.

 

The Imps use Preybirds in HoT if I remember, if that helps any.

 

But they were fighters too. I'm thinking they are the exact same.

 

Thrawns house uses clawcrafts, the main chiss dont.

 

It was a special scout ship with a navi-computer in HOT.

 

I'm sure the main chiss use clawcraft, but than again we don't know enough about them to be sure

 

clawcraft are imperial/chiss techonology. the main chiss don't consort with anyone but there own empire. So I doubt they have any imperial technology.

 

But if they send their children off to a place that isn't supposed to exist, then couldn't they get ship plans from a anonamus deliverer

 

The main chiss empire can't even leave there own empire, there hyperspace technology is severly lacking. They only have 28 systems or so.

 

But they could be shipped some clawcraft from the Hand of thrawn

 

The main chiss empire doesn't contact there exiled chiss. They got rid of them because they don't follow there ways.

 

They don't contact them but say a soldir who left the main chiss joined up with HoT phalanx and then came back was "mysterisly" promated up ranks a started mass building them

 

Basically if you leave the chiss to go against there way of life according to alien anthology and gamer 5, you are forever outcasted never to return. Chiss empire are rather isolationists and don't want to get involved with any affairs they are happy with the technology they have. Which according to gamer 5 and alien anthology is just a fleet of small sized dreadnaught sized ships as I recall.

 

But what is a small fleet of dreadnaught size ships? If they are comparing it to the Empire, that is large fleet, but if they are camparing it to the Hapes, NR, CSA, whatever, then that is different.

 

I thought it said somewhere in DJ that the Chiss proper looked the other way when the Thrawn Phalanx gave them the techonology.

Plus, the ships in HoT duology are beacon ships.

 

It's as I said in my first reply to this; no, they are not the same ships.

 

Note were talking about the chiss' 28 system empire, a small fleet would be very small compared to the empire. The empire is much larger empire that spanned thousands of worlds, with an humoungous fleet.

As well none of there ships have navi-computers they have to do all there travel by beacons(set around there empire's systems), which is one reason they don't leave there isolation much(except when they have to defend from an attack on them), and it's hard for them to get around outside of there empire without some form of beacon ship to give them moveable navigation.

 

Yes Val you shall listen to. Clawcrafts are hybrids of chiss/imperial technology. Since the chiss are almost as xeenophobic as the Yevetha, I highly doubt they would use such spacecraft.

 

Okay, I noticed that a few months ago when I re-read HoT.

Clawcraft : Fighter-class, TIE cockpit, 'Chiss' wings.

HoT ships : Shuttle-class, can carry at least three persons (Luke, Mara & Artoo), 'Chiss' cockpit, TIE wings.
