ST Are "Droid Rights" actually a thing now?

    If Droid rights are an issue, I bet google is all over that!

    If there can be animal rights, why not droid? Aren't droids a tad closer to human sentience than animals?

    I think it should be because they clearly have emotions and independent thoughts. Bb8 shows this so many times

    I remember in the original ANH novel, when Wuher the bartender orders R2 and 3PO out of the cantina, Luke thinks to himself "now is not the time to bring up the issue of droid rights" and goes along with it.

    IG-88 was planning Revolution apparently.

    I wonder if there was a time in Star Wars history where the Droids got the upper hand, but we're then suppressed by Jedi. Now they are kept down artificially with restrainer bolts and regular memory erasings.

    But, somewhere out there is a planet that only has Droids.
    They Rebelled. The Evolved.
    They have a Plan.
