I've read a lot about that. Still has a long way to go though. It's really expensive and requires a huge amount of equipment.

Imagine a circular room with one of these all the way around the perimiter that showed 360 degree movies! That would be the best!

Yea, I hear you. However, remember when owning a DVD player cost an arm and a leg?

Remember when the computers aboard our space program vessels couldn't do the math that a pocket calculator can do now? :p

Yeah, but DVD didn't require plumbing and electrical work in your house ;)

It's a cool idea and I'll bet you see it show up in a parade of homes house sometime in the next couple of years. But if you have a fan running in your house you could disrupt the picture.

I'm just being antagonistic because I'm bored. Sorry.

I actually like the idea. I'd like to see them figure out how to make it clearer and affordable.

As for holoprojector, this is not far off from what would be needed.

Definately something on my "If I had all the money in the world..." list.

Not me, I'd be all about time travel...

Or at least instantaneous, interstellar travel...

Anything to get me off this dirtball. Ya know, if there's a bright spot to the center of the universe, Earth is about the farthest...

    [face_laugh] Nicely done SS.

That looks cool! It does seem a little extensive for home use anytime soon, but now that the idea is getting close to reality....

I remember renting a VCR, well, no BETA actually (crowd: "OOOOOOOOOOOOHHH, AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH"), and before that, my parents really did have a projector and a big screen that we would pull down in fron of the kitchen.
Now I pop in a disc & watch it on the widescreen. :D
Once they get something going, as time goes by it just gets better, smaller, and cheaper.

    It wont take long.

What would I do with all the money in the world?
Thats a threadworthy question. The answers could take a while though. ;)
