They were G-Canon before. Is there any word about them?

If George cut them out, it's because he didn't feel like they fit in the story. So no, I don't think they are canon, no more than the first draft of the script could be considered canon.

I'd say no, because they often conflict with other parts of the story. One of the deleted scenes from ROTS has Anakin and Obi-Wan escaping General Grievous by cutting into the floor when surrounded by droids. In the 'actual' story, they're taken to the bridge to meet Grievous, where he then escapes.

No, but it's probably like the novels as in they are canon whenever they don't contradict the movies.

Scenes get cut out for other reasons such as cutting down run time.

The general explanation was that they were canon, unless they're contradicted by new footage shot to replace it. Such as the original version of the Cantina scenes in ANH and the multiple versions of Shaak Ti's demise in ROTS. Other deleted scenes material wound up in the novelizations and were later referred to in various EU stories. The multiple Wampas appeared in "Darksaber", while Hobbie crashing his snow speeder into General Veers AT-AT was referred to in the "X-Wing: Rogue Squadron" comics and novels.

Moving to EUC - canon debates aren't permitted in Saga.

They never were canon, even now.

I know this because there have been official statements about this. Do some research.

Weren't we told that the scenes that don't contradict the movies are G-Canon?

Oh, whoops, you're right. This also possibly means that they will remain canon, as G-Canon is the same level as the movies.

I pick and choose. For example, I don't count the death of Shaak Ti since I consider the first TFU to be canon, but I do count the Padme/Bail/Mothma scenes.

    Deleted scenes are headcanon.
