  1. In Memory of LAJ_FETT: Please share your remembrances and condolences HERE

Are the discussions here more intelligent than those at some other forums?

"More" - Referring to a greater quantity
    "Discussion" - Any thread/conversation

Actually, IMO there's more in AotC to discuss and analyze than many of the books. But I do see your point. There's certainly a lot to talk about in Traitor (I just finished it yesterday) and Destiny's Way.

Well, i'm pretty new here and what prompted me to join in was the mainly intelligent and thoughtful posts. There can also be some pretty entertaining posts, like most of this thread.

And Simpsons quotes are always a sign of high intelligence, even if no one understands the pickle matrix.

It also helps when you have the likes of Mastadge,Genghis,Valiento and Kier

Sadly, we no longer have Kier. I don't know who else got a PM from him recently, but he sent me one saying he was leaving the forum and for more I should see his farewell address on his profile. He left, I kid you not. If you don't believe me, then feel free to check his profile.

Screwed over by the man, once again :p

Since Kier is gone, I shall replace his name with mine :D

EDIT: Honestly, those 4 (3) are some of the few that I can carry on an intelligent conversation with.

Except Val, he just calls me names and won't let me play any reindeer games. :p

When I'm not at work, I'm usually working on the house. Whenever I come inside for a glass of water, I usually head over to the computer and post once or twice. I NEVER *only* got to TFN boards; but if I'm online doing something I'll almost always be at TFN boards also.

"All right children, pin down your worms so they don't fly up and hit you in the eye."

"Ms Hoover, I ated my worm."

Seriously though, I think our threads are far more intelligent. I mean there's never been a thread in here where people post hundreds of times about how hot a computer animated alien is.

You should've seen the old Jar Jar threads about what he can do with that tongue of his. You'd be surprised. . .

I think the discussions here are, the reason not the least of which is that we know the correct spelling of the name "Anakin." I've seen some pretty hideous mispellings of it, like "Anikin" and "Annikan" and more!

Thank you, thank you, I'm glad my high calliber thoughts and opinions create a more, "intelligent" board.

Because we all know, if not for me, this place would be, un-intelligent, I'm so glad I could bring all this intelligence to the forums.

About Mastdage, Genghis, Valiento and Kier

I like 'em so much I'm working them into a fanfic...

    I bent my wookiee.
EDIT: Whoops, missed the previous bending.

    How about:
    "Tastes like burning!"

    Sorry to hear Kier left.

No, but their are threads about how hot a pen and paper creation is...

Does anyone remember that EU character underwear thread? *shudder*

On the whole, I think you're right. (Ha! I just reminded myself of Goldmember) It's certainly not always true. I think that people who read normally have more intelligent discussions than people who don't, even if it's serial science fiction books.

Genre fiction is every bit as serious as mainstream fiction. And a lot more fun!
