Canada are there any battlestar galactica fans out there?

if so, is it similar to SW?

The story line is no where near related to the Star Wars Universe, Cylons could be considered equivalent to battle droids or stormtroopers, the Galactica and its troops could be compared to a monCalamari starship and the rebels. A colonial Viper is not as good as an X wing maybe comparable to a tie. The cylon base star could not go one on one with a Star Destroyer. There is not enough alien cultures in BSG, there are no Jedi's, no one with special abilities, and the new one coming out in January will be even farther away from the Star Wars universe.

Just my opinion.

 

I'm a big BSG fan, have been since I was a kid.

I agree with the above diagnosis, however, there are next to no similarities between BSG and SW. That said, there is a similarity in *flavour* some of the time, especially in the combat scenes: starfighter furballs are starfighter furballs, after all. And pilots are pilots are pilots.
