are there any comic/star wars conventions in MIchigan?

hello, i am from ontario, but live really close to detroit. ayways what i am looking for is comic conventions in Michigan. does anybody know if there are any, or if there is a site that tells about the upcoming conventions in teh USA. i really wanna meet some star wars actors/actresses. if you have any info, please fill me in.

Apparently there are, try Google search on fields Star Wars AND Comic AND Convention AND Michigan and get bunches of links to explore: Search results The rest is up to you.

 

There are several very small cons across the state, but there is one main one. It's called the Motor City Comic Con. It happens in the fall and spring in Novi. That's less than an hour from the tunnel.

novi - it's usually around the 2nd weekend in May - the exit for comic con is right at the site, easy to get to from I96 - i've been there the last two years - last year was ok (daniel logan was there and very very approachable and cool) but the year before there was better merchandise.
oh - one other thing - this isn't limited to star wars or science fiction - both times there were female porno stars autographing. weird, weird combination.

I've always enjoyed Motor City Comic Con. I think we've travelled out for it at least twice from Rochester, NY. It was definitely the first one that came to mind when I saw your question.

Lately, I've felt like the MCCC is a rip off. Between having to pay for parking and to get in, and a limited amount of merchandise that actually interests me. Every other booth seems to be bootleg VHS/DVD sales or something not really related to Comics/Sci-Fi.

 

There is a gaming convention and I think they might have comics that takes place in Ann Arbor called U-Con:

If there aren't comics, there is at least one Star Wars LARP that's held, it's run by a friend of mine.

Also over Memorial Day weekend there is a multi-fandom convention called Media*West that takes place in Lansing:
