Are there any good modern War RTS games?

I'd like to buy one and play one over the summer. The last one I remember was called "Real War" or something like that, but that was nearly 5 years ago.

 

World In Conflict is supposed to be good.

 

How about the Dawn of War games?

 

I've been told that despite being YET ANOTHER WWII game, Company of Heroes is one of the best RTS games you can buy.
Other than that, World in Conflict is one of the best modern-style RTS's, and Supreme Commander and Sins of a Solar Empire are some of the best alternative/sci-fi style RTS games.

Saving that, you can't go wrong with picking up the C&C First Decade box set, which is outrageously cheap for the amount of games that are bundled in it.

 

Well, I play them, but they are set in the year 40999 and thus not really "modern" war RTS.

 

Yes, get the C&C First Decade set.

 

Command and Conquer are good, that aren't that futuristic, 2049 to be exact, and it gives you really really big guns.

I mostly play historical and fantasy RTS's, but I always hear good things about Company of Heroes.
