Oh well. I'm getting a DSL connection next month, so I guess I'll start downloading then. I have a lot of catching up to do!

 

yo cojo UPN por mi DishNetwork... deverda q nunca lo veo ya que deverdad q no me atrae mucho ST, alomejor es pq no eh tenido un buen taste de la serie y eso... pero na...

en UPN lo q yo veia era Roswell...

 

Yo puedo ver Enterprise, pero cuando estoy en Philadelphia. Hasta ahora he visto season 1 completo.

Me considero mas Trekker que Warsie, pero en verdad me gustan ambas series un monton. Y entre quien es mejor en peleas, mi opinion es esta:

Space combat: Lasers de SW no valen para nada contra los shields en ST. Y para el final de DS9 ST tiene attack fighters, no tan flashy como los de SW, pero se ven mas duraderos. Quiza el Death Star se lleva por el medio a varios starships, pero eventualmente gana ST. Y si empiezan a traer a los Yuuzhan Vong del EU, les tengo una sola palabra: Borg. Caso cerrado.

Hand to Hand: En verdad que quiero ver un Wookie vs. Klingon, pero creo que el Wookie gana. Y ademas de los Jedi y Sith que van a Force (pardon the pun) their way a traves de cualquier oficial de ST, en una pelea de Red Shirted Ensigns(TM) vs. Stormtroopers, lo siento pero hasta los Stormtroopers tienen mejor punteria.

 

Caltoth, que crees del season 1 de Enterprise? (vamos a ser nonspoiler dado que Corran no ha terminado de verlo). No es por nada pero ese season finale me dejo grave.

 

Honestamente, creo que hubo episodios que estuvieron buenos, y otros que no valian la pena. Por ejemplo, a mi (a sucker for time travel/space-time continuity/preservation of the timeline stuff) me encantaron los episodios que tenian que ver con el "Temporal Cold War" (como el finale). Otros, como el del cometa o el del desierto, no son nada del otro mundo.

Claro, hay algunos que son "stand-alone" que son excelentes. Ejemplo: "Two Days and Two Nights".

 

Two days and two nights esta brutal... pobres Tripp y Malcom.

Lo del temporal cold war esta bieeeeeeeen brutal. Y soy yo el unico que opina que la silueta del malo del futuro se parece a young picard?

Anyways, me acabo de tirar un mega maraton de Enterprise para ponerme al dia y todo lo que tengo que decir es OH MY GOD!!!

Desde el final de "Best of Both Worlds" donde Picard es Borg y cuando Riker dice "fire" no ha habido un season finale tan espectacular y tan edge of your seats como Shockwave. . .

Enterprise esta ahi, ahi como la mejor serie de ST. . . .

 

I agree with you. No me acordaba de ese de TNG con Riker. Pero me imagino que para el tiempo que lo dieron tuvo que ser algo que puso a la gente loca.

 

Para que sigala discucion inteligente ya que se fueron del tema!

Bueno, eso es muy, muy sujetivo.

A mi personalmente me gustan las cosas hardware based. Usualmente, a los que somos mas "hardcore scifi" nos disfrutamos mas la imaginacion de los escritores que inventan un futuro que "puede ser real"

Realmente es comparar chinas con botellas.

Star Wars is NOT meant to be scifi. Its meant to be a fairy tale with a scifi motiff.

En SW acuerdate de la nave de Dooku....esa tecnologia se esta trabajando ahora mismo!!

 

Estaba pensando en libros, no medios visuales.

Y como quiera, quien inventa la tecnologia en medios visuales usualmente es el escritor. El designer hace eso, diseña el look de las cosas. Por lo menos, asi funciona el scifi.

Por ejemplo, un escritor inventa el warp core, que es tecnologia, el designer inventa como se ve.

A eso me refiero.

 

The ships in ST are awful..everything has to be so clean if you compare with the ships in SW if someboy understands what i mean...
But in my opinion...the one who created ST didnt have own fantasy or am i wrong...

U have a good point there Aleia........the ships in ST r very clean and nice......but in SW in the OT......we can see the hell that all the ships have gone thru......thats another thing......so many battles......so many episodes........so many damages and the ships r the same......they get repaired and painted in no time !!

 

In ST we see a distant future where pollution and sickness don't exist the way we know it today. SW, on the other hand was a long time ago.
Oh, btw, I didn't see a spot on any of Queen Amidala's ships. The OT is on a time where trouble and mayhem are the words of the day, where everybody is running from the empire. I really doubt they can afford to have a car wash, or Ship wash day.

If you wanna see ST with ships that get shot and the next episode have still the scratches and open parts see the new series, Enterprise. There even is an episode about the party looking for ship parts and fixing the damaged parts.

 

Lo mas seguro eso fue por que vieron Galaxyquest......en Voyager, estaban perdidos pero la nave siempre estaba en optimas condiciones.....lo de la nave de Amidala tienes razon.....en eso estamos de acuerdo....por eso fue que hable sobre las naves en el OT de SW!! and lets get this straight..........SW is not Sci Fi or Fantasy........is all documents.......this things are real...this happened a long time ago in a galaxy far far away!! coo coo!
