The last option should read, "I don't know WHAT you're talking about."

A friend of mine sent me a copy of the theme and it is nice. I listened to it a few times but was surprised to find myself humming it absentmindedly the other day. Very cool.

Can't wait to hear the whole soundtrack.

for some reason yesterday when i had a really bad headache, I couldn't seem to get it "Across the Stars" out of my head. I love the track but it was driving me crazy because of my headache. But I've been humming it again now that the headache is gone.

I love Across the Stars, but it will always have a melancholy feel for me. My cat died a few days after I first heard the track, so I will always associate the music with that sad event. I'll probably bawl my eyes out when I hear the music in the film, like the sap I am :)

    Yup, 42.

I shouldn't really tell you what it means, but I'm such a nice guy that I'll spill the beans:

It's the answer to the Question of Life, the Universe and Everything.

    No no.

    It's

"What do you get when you multiply six by nine?"

Yes, I know it's wrong. I can't help it--I'm Golgafrinchan, not part of the Earth's original matrix.

    Sigh.

lol. Douglas Adams is a great author...

Oh. "Across the Stars"...it reeks of old style and over used chord progression. There's not a bit of originality in the whole piece, so therefore, it's just like any other Williams composition.

And to think....John Williams was given a full 4 months to write AOTC! I would give ANYTHING to have that much time on a score! If I had 4 months, the stuff I could come up with would blow Williams stuff out of the water.

As I recall, Igor Stravinsky was once asked to do a film score - he replied that he would need $30,000 and a year to write it. When asked why he turned the project down he said, "How can you expect anyone to write anything that is any good in less than a year?"
