Huge list there, bs. I still haven't seen a film in theaters since X-Men, but I'll probably go see one before year's end.

I've seen each of these movies several times:

    1977
    Star Wars

Star Wars was renamed as "A New Hope" and re-released. I saw the original ESB and RotJ when the lines at the movie theatre went around the block.

    1997
Star Wars: A New Hope SE
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars: Return of the Jedi SE

    1999
Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace

I would be an avid moviegoer, but I never get to the movies I want to see. I've only seen three movies this year in the theaters: Scary Movie, X-Men and D&D. I wanted to see about 10 more, but never got to. I'm hoping to change that next year and see whatever movies I want to see.

I saw two new movies in theaters on Saturday (the first time I've ever gone to see more than one movie on the same day), so I'm going to update my 2000 moviegoing list:

    2000
    Dinosaur
    Mission: Impossible 2
    Shangai Noon
    Chicken Run
    The Patriot
    X-Men
    Unbreakable
    Disney's The Emperor's New Groove

I seriously doubt that I'll go to theaters again before year's end, so that's probably the final list. I saw 8 films in theaters this year, which is much better than usual, but still not as big a moviegoing year as 1997 was for me.

    SOTS,
I love movies wish I could get back all the money I've spent. If it's good I've seen it.
    Done so for almost 25 years(geez I'm old) :)

One of my friends goes every friday to see one or two movies. There is nothing he has not seen.

As for myself, I see about 5 movies a year in theater.

    This year:

    MI2
    The Patriot
    Charlie's Angels
    Vertical Limit
    D&D

I still haven't gone to theaters again since seeing Unbreakable in late 2000. That may change next week with The Mummy Returns, though.

Thank God I saw Memento two weeks ago. that was a breath of fresh air.

I almost never go to the movies. It's a combination of the fact that I never seem to like theaters (too loud and too dark) and that people don't seem to be making movies that I'd be interested in, at least on the surface.

In the Nineties, I probably only went to the theater to see a movie maybe four or five times: TPM (twice), "Malcolm X", and "Why Do Fools Fall in Love?" (a girl drug me to the theater to see that one) are the only ones I remember off the top of my head.

Wow, I surprised how many of you don't go to the movies. I probably see a few movies a month in the theater and probably a few more a month on video tape. I didn't know that was a lot. There is so much stuff out there to see. It's not like I'm a couch potato either. I'm a pretty active guy. I just love movies and I make time for them. There's a world out there besides Star Wars. (Although it is my favorite movie series by far.)

So far, I've only seen one movie in theaters this year (The Mummy Returns). By this time last year, I had already seen about 3 or so films in theaters, so 2001 doesn't look like it'll rival my two big moviegoing years (1997 and 2000).

I have now been to the theaters four times this year (see my updated first post), which is the same number of theater visits I had in '98 and '99. I do expect to see a few other films this year, but I'm not sure if this'll be a "record" year for me like '97 or '00.
