My name alludes to the fact that I don't want my third year participating in this to also result in a fourth place finish.

 

Yes, this is for NFL Football. You can already make your picks for Week 1 and change them anytime up to 5 minutes before each game starts.

Depending on whether Favre is or is not actually going to retire might affect the Vikings/Saints game that will debut the season on 9/9.

 

I want to watch some preseason games, see how some of the rookies are looking before I make my first week's picks.

It's almost time for the el-oh-el. w00t.

I hate Week One. I always feel like I have no frickin' clue about most match-ups.

 

i feel like that to a degree about the first three weeks honestly. that's when things will have sorted themselves out pretty well, but til then it's something of a crapshoot.

although you did have the problems of the paper mache giants last year, that took the saints battering ram to show for the rather poor team they were. wonder if they'll have fixed anything or not.

 

Get you picks in for the Vikings vs. Saints game today and the other games no later than Sunday before they start.

So, while we're not completely done with Week One, anyone have one of those "D'oh!" moments so far when you watch a game you've picked wrong and thought, "Man, I just knew that was going to happen!" Especially in the first weeks when we're learning about a team as much as they are, I tend to think that games could go one of perhaps several ways. When something happens that I previously imagined, like Washington being able to eek one out against the Cowboys, I curse at myself for not having changed my pick when I knew something like would happen. I just had this weird feeling that Washington would somehow find a way to win, and well, I got that pick wrong.

I had also considered Houston over Indianapolis, but I thought, "Nah. Peyton's got this one." Efff. Everything else either went my way or I didn't see it coming at all, but those dern picks that I second-guessed and then ultimately get wrong are hell!

 

Heh I didn't like that my insecurity became true. I picked the Colts over Houston but I only put 1 for my confidence level.

 

Well, if it's any consolation, don't forget that your worse two weeks will be dropped.

 

I spoke with some people about changing my Colts pick because of the o-line woes of the Colts, but figured the offense was still OK. Didn't figure on the defense being THAT bad...

Oh and Dallas...div team on the road in the first week? Stupid.

 

I'm coming for you JCM! Stupid Chargers denied me a perfect week. How do you lose to the Raiders at home?!

 

That was an incredibly impressive week! 15 and 1, sheesh.
