As someone who didn't watch Call To Action yet, I hate all of you.

It's so tempting anyway go watch it. It's amazing.

 

I always watch Rebels with my little bro. It just seems unfair to see an episode without him, so hopefully he'll have time tommorow.

 

Well you were gone the guy who voiced Tarkin made an account here. Also Tarkins in the next episode but that was in the preview.

 

Really? That sounds awesome. I knew Tarkin was in it. Was he cool?

 

No he was and they did a great job with him it almost sounds just like Cushing in ANH.

 

Just watched this. It was great!!

 

I finally saw the episode. It was nice but disney channel is too sanitized to show the goods.

 

Remembering this thread exists gave me a chuckle.

I'm literally crying right now…and I haven't even seen the episode. Heard the rumors that "Call to Action" had two surprising deaths, and it flicked darkly through my mind "How terrible would it be if Myles and Cumberlane died?" I thought nothing of it, but another dropped hint had me on Wookiepedia, and my heart dropped like a stone. Beheading. Be.Heading.

I have never been so upset over a fictional character. Ever.

Revenge of the Sith was too sanitized to show the goods. You don't see Dooku lose his head. (Well, maybe if you pause on the exact specific frame, but you don't see it watching normally.)

i don't think it's sanitized at all. it's sw not conan the barbarian.

 

I think it is more "artful" to imply something, rather than to flat out show it. You can evoke just as much emotion, and if done right, even more than you would from outright showing it. For example part of what made Pre Visla's death so dramatic was Bo Katan's reaction. In the same way this was more dramatic by showing the others reaction. But at the same time if it's too sanitized then yes it takes away from the story. That said, I liked the way this was done.

 

I don't either, I was just pointing out how that decapitation was pretty much par for the course for Star Wars.

 

I agree with ShortTrooper - just because an act of violence isn't shown unedited, doesn't make it "sanitized". Part of what makes a death tragic is not just the act of death itself, but the ripples of consequence through other characters. That being said, I think a show is poor when deaths have no consequence. That's "sanitized", to me.


Still crying here, just so ya know.

Anyways, imperials getting punished for incompetence doesn't bother me too much. It is the Empire after all. They aren't known for being forgiving.
