Argument for Jacen's Power

Do you realize that Jacen Solo is the first of the Skywalker Clan to grow up from the beginning of his life being trained as a Jedi? This means that we are not seeing the full potential of a Skywalker until now.

A lot of people point to Luke's 40 years of training as him being untouchable. Jacen has 32 years, and a wider variety of force knowledge.

Why is Jacen so powerful?

1. Jacen is the first Skywalker which was properly trained "from birth" in the ways of the force.
2. He's more of a force nerd than Luke.
3. He is willing to try new things.
4. Pain strengthens him.
5. Emotion strengthens him.
6. Serenity strengthens him.
7. He is open to any course of action that gets the Job down.
8. He uses the force way more than Luke.
9. Again, he is the first example we see of what a Skywalker can be.

 

While you certainly bring up the possibilities of Jacen Solo being superior for his training, it's noteworthy that Jacen didn't begin formal Jedi Training until he was fourteen. It's fairly clear he spent the majority of his time with his mother and father with only the occasional visits to their Uncle Luke's Academy.

Nothing to slouch at certainly but Anakin had more force training than Jacen.

 

Jaina started her training at the same time Jacen did. The only thing special about Jacen's knowledge of the Force is that he took five years off to learn other Force traditions.

 

Yeah, though realistically Jaina doesn't have the obsession about the esoteric that Jacen does.

An obsession that began around the time he was twenty.

while his "formal" training didn't start till he was a teen, i recall Luke playing with Jacen and Jaina in JAT with the Force, and them using it at least a little bit. and all 3 siblings used their power at various times as kids, especially when kidnapped. and even if you go with him training from age 14 till 32, that's still 18 years... Luke's 18th year of Force training was reached in the Corellian Trilogy/HoT timeframe... and he was pretty powerful by then.

as for Jacen's power, i don't think Jacen is flat out more powerful then Luke... especially in the combat related areas. but he is getting pretty high up there, and we really haven't seen him go all out in years, so there's no telling just what he can do if he has to. between the Skywalker "uber-power", his ruthlessness, and his knowledge of obscure powers, he's definately among the most powerful and dangerous Force users we've seen. i really look forward to the inevitable Jacen vs Luke battle... regardless of outcome both of them will get to show their stuff against one of the most powerful foes either has/will ever face.

 

A real question is whether or not Jacen's misunderstanding about the nature of the Force is impeding his gaining of power over it.

 

you also have to understand jacen isnt pure. han solo isnt a force user, and leia was that potient. the force in the blood may be watered down. i say that he has great potiental, but luke is the first desendent of anakin, a human make from Pure force, midoclorians(is that how you spell it?) so as jacen is power, we'll have to see for sure if he can surpass luke.
