MidSouth Arkansas/Texas: Southwestern Conference Reunion!

Anyone else remember the good ol' days when the Razorbacks played all their games with all Texas officials? Gotta miss those times!

ahhhh....i remember those days......the poor officiating ......i specifically remember u.s. reed getting punched in the face at austin, with two refs watching and no call........whatever happened to the SWC after UofA left?????????

Good question. Did the SWC just dissolve after UA split?

 

It lasted one or two more seasons, split and 4 schools merged with the BIG 8 (now the BIG 12) 2 went to Confrence-USA.

 

Well its debateable that you can consider Baylor to be part of the BIG 12. Its more like the Big 11 and little 1 now.

And I certainly understand how it is with those ref's in Austin. My Aggies usually don't fare real well there.

 

Actually the SWC lasted until '96. 1997 was the first Big 12 year. Arkansas left the SWC at the end of the 1990-91 season. I went to Fayetteville my freshman year. That was the last time The Aggies and Pigs played. It was another 6 seasons before the SWC broke up. I was very glad when it did.
