Art Archive Artist John Alvin Has Passed Away

    TFN and John Alvin's website are reporting that he passed away suddenly of a heart attack yesterday. I don't know if he posted here. I took a quick look at our VIP list and didn't see any id under that name.

    He was a fantastic artist. His Celebration IV poster was, is magnificent.

    Aww, that's a real shame. :(

    I remember he did VHS covers for the OT that were made into t-shirts. I wanted one of those so badly back in the day and they were one of the first images of SW I was ever exposed to. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. @};-

    A real loss for SW fans--and art fans in general. His work is what a lot of us aspire to, in spirit, composition and inspiration--my thoughts and prayers for his family and friends. :(

    I saw a poster for his art at CIV D:

    Can't believe he's dead now, the convention feels so recent.
