I thought you may find Star Wars artist Terese Nielsen's recent blog interesting. She talks about the box art she created for the upcoming Star Wars Miniatures: Legacy of the Force.

    Very, very cool!

Ah. So that is Luke in Rebel Spec Forces armor. I had only seen smaller images of that painting. Awesome painting. Really, really, awesome. Like, stunning. Like, it's absolutely fantastic to see such a good likeness of Mark Hamill wearing that armor.

I was just holding out hope that it was Ben in GAG armor.

I like the box art of the SW miniatures but the sculpting on the actual toys are teh worst, just as bad as Heroclix. I can't get motivated to buy any of them but in the meantime I've got quite a few japanese gashapon mini figs like Akira & Dragonball.

Really man, the SW miniatures team need to hand over the sculpting jobs to other people that know how to do it better. Anyways, Luke looks cool in that art.

Are we sure its Luke? It could be Jaina looking like Luke... or whatever the hell that rediculous idea floating about for Invincible is. :p

Nice picture though. Not too sure if the hair fits but apart from that very, very well done.

That's an awesome painting! Incredibly iconic Fett pose, too... bravo! Regardless, that's some fantastic art.

If you'd read the linked blog entry, you'd know that the pose didn't use a previous shot of Fett as reference. :)

Aha, I thought the art looked familiar! She also did covers for Union and the NJO.

Ah. Is she the artist responsible for the absolutely awesome Force Heretic covers? It looks like that style...

She has very impressive art but it too bad that Knightfall was cancelled though. :(

    Gorgeous! [face_love]

Interesting that her blog says: "This is Luke in battle armor (from the Legacy comic series)"
Methinks that putting the Legacy comics figures in with the Legacy of the Force novels title might get confusing for folks who don't know that they are two different casts of characters, LOL.

Beautiful! =D= I love her muscular back and shoulders. (The first box of minis I bought had that picture on it.)

    Hmmm, maybe that's a hint that Luke not only isn't dead in the Legacy, he hasn't aged much either! 8-}

When is Rebel Spec Forces armor mentioned in LOTF?

It is just how they package the mini-figs, doesn't have to mean that they are from the same time period.

It's still a slightly silly thing to do. We are about to release the Legacy of the Force set which has brand new miniatures from that era....and some from other eras that we have put in 'cause we thought it would be cool but couldn't come up with adequate sets for them.

Speaking of which I'm curious when they are going to put up the gallery. I want to see some decent images of those miniatures.

I'm sure it's a marketing thing. After all, people won't buy a Star Wars something-or-other unless it has movie characters, right? o_O
