Artist ArtSchmo's Ongoing Art Thread

Seeing how I'm just ending an almost two-month long episode of creative blockage and artistic frustration, I figured this would be the perfect time to start a new art thread. Here, I post anything from simple sketches to more labor-intensive paintings.

I'm gonna start with just a couple of work in progress images, and one old portrait as there's not much new and fresh material to see yet.

Atton Rand from a bit over a year ago. Not very happy with this one anymore, but I'll leave it here, regardless.



I'm gonna be updating this thread on a semi-regular basis. Will be tossing my new sketches and other works here.

Thank you for sharing these, the two WIP are coming along nicely and Atton Rand looks great. Creative blocks are not fun at all, can be our very bane. Am glad to hear that you are overcoming it and making progress.

Eh. It's a weak piece. Very weak. I can do much better now.

Ah, I quite like it, too. I'm hoping to complete the painting soon.
I rather enjoy portraiture. It's my favourite form of art. I love trying to capture not only the likeness of a person, but also what makes them who they are. I do my best to bring it out and into the forefront (if not always very successfully). But damn if I'm not trying!

 

That's wonderful. I strive to do that with how I write as well. I would love to see you do Peter.

Have you decided if it will be a Self piece or as a character?

Did some lineart practice. Pretty satisfied with this one.
May colour at some point.
