Lit Asset Tracking - Cataloging named capital ships in canon (List Updated 3/19/21)

Looks like the Watchtower from Lost Stars is a regular Imperial Lambda-Class shuttle.

 

Those are the shuttles they take to Dantooine. Watchtower does not come til later.

Also...just finished reading the short stories in The Rise of The Empire collection...there is a ship called the Despot.

I'll have to go back in my copy and check, but I haven't read it in a while, so I'll take your word for it.

 

So the latest issue of the Adventures comic names a new ship: the qaz-class Star Destroyer Malevolence. Sadly, it doesn't depict it but cool to see that vessel being referenced.

Thanks to the new Encyclopedia of Starfighters and Vehicles, we have some updates!

• Home One-type is called an "MC80A"
• The Defiance and Independence are recanonized as HO-types, they fought at Endor.

I'm toying with adding the Resistance's ships. Especially when you consider that the Raddus, Anodyne, Ninka, and Vigil were all surplus NR designs.

Hammerhead corvettes are now Sphyrna class corvettes.

I've edited the class name on the main page to "Sphyrna-class Hammerhead corvette". I left Hammerhead in because it is so recognizable.

Two new named ships from Last Shot:

• Tribulon Vort (described as a star cruiser)
• Krassbrucker (described as a medium corvette)

Both are lightly armed due to the disarmament activities of the New Republic. I'm wondering if the medium corvette is a Bunkerbuster corvette...

Really curious about the Tribulon Vort. Can't be a Nebulon, I don't think it's an MC85. My guess is a Marsheem

 

Well, "star cruiser" is a generic term. Also, the author's use of ship classes wasn't ideal. The Mon Cal ship used by the pirates was called a "freighter", "frigate", and "cruiser", all within the span of the same chapter.

I liked the book... but space ships and battles weren't this author's forte, IMO.

Yikes. Yeah I have enjoyed it but I wish people would be more consistent sometimes with their naming. The terms like freighter or frigate are basic and have open boundaries, but at least stick to one

 

They have been fouling up ship classifications since the beginning.

EDIT:

So, what do you all think about adding First Order and Resistance ships? It's easy to add the First Order. The Resistance is tricky, as there is some much bleed over from the NR. Which is the same problem I have with the Rebel/NR connection.

So, in terms of categories, should I expand the Rebel/NR section to include the Resistance too? Thoughts?

I'd say why not? I think it'd be good to start cataloging the First Order and Resistance while the lore is still young, if you know what I mean. Since there is a lot of "bleed over" as you say, it'd be good to start getting the Resistance ships.

 

I've added the perfectly named Geist to the MC80 Liberty-type listing.

That's two new Mon Cala cruisers in one week. Woo hoo!

There is a Star Destroyer named Solicitude in the TLJ Visual Dictionary under the Captain Canady entry on page 30.
