I can understand the slight sense of loss over the end of LotR. It's a hell of a slog but once you've finished it - you can take a sense of pride in it.

MOTs Minx re your colleage who was saying that 'young ladies' should not read filthy books... don't let them anywhere near A kiss of Shadows by Laurell K Hamilton... the bookseller who recommended it told me it was very good but very rude... Damn straight! Lots of gorgeous, tall, well built elves, not the pretty boy type you see in LotR... just read it!

Would also recommend Coldheart Canyon by Clive Barker too.
