If I remember correctly I had thought it was about the same size, if not then slightly larger

People agree, the IR fleet was about the same size as the NR fleet, if people remember correctly

The two sides had the same number of ISD's. But I'm not sure which side had more ships in general.

Taken from Ruin, the combined Rep-Imp fleet consisted of:

    5 Impstars
    9 Vicstars
    3 Bothan Assault Cruiser
    1 Star Cruiser
Plus a "scattering of smaller ships, from frigates to private freighters"

That helps, but we also need the Imperial fleet specs to be able to compare

People agree, more information is required

    3 SD's (imps)
    let's say 4 Vics (imps)
    Then there's 4 Crusiers (rep)
    2 SD's (rep)
    5 vics (rep)

That's eleven to seven. Or even eight to ten considering we don't know which extra Vic belonged to. In either case, the rebels had more ships and were newer models than the Imp stars.

IIRC, The NJO Sourcebook said 8 of the VSDs were Imperial ships; and 3 of the ISDs were also Imperial(one of them being the the Chimaera)

    Imperial Remnant

I stand corrected on the IR's fleet size

People agree, they were wrong about the IR's fleet size before

Hey, can anybody think of a time when a joke got old, and then just really annoying?

OK, this from NJO Sourcebook, page 64:

Admiral Gilad Pellaeon brings a battle group of four Imperial Star Destroyers, eight Victory-class Star Destroyers, and a small fleet of support vessels to protect Ithor. The New Republic Forces, under command of Bothan Admiral Traest Kre'fey, join them, forced to leave Agamar.

And this is what Ruin page 239 says:

The Chimaera sat in the center of the defender's formation, deep in the well of a cone. Arrayed around and ahead of it were four other Imperial-class Star Destroyers-two each from the New Republic and the Remnant. Then nine Victory-class Star destroyers,...

So according to Ruin, the Imperials brought 3 ISDs into the battle. The number four given in the NJO Sourcebook must be a slight error; or maybe one of the Imperial ISDs didn't join the battle for some reason.
