Eh, it's Alex Proyas. Dark City has earned him a great many benefits of the doubt. He can use one here.

For there to be a benefit of the doubt, there must first be doubt. There is none.

Thats the reason I am giving the movie the benefit of the doubt. He has a good tract record so I want to see how Gods of Egypt will turn out.

Sigh, was looking forward to watching Macbeth, but looks like I won't be seeing it in here. Hard to say if it will eventually come here given the multiple big releases next month.

Which actor's Dracula is the best in your opinion? Based on the novel.

Christopher Lee is second only to Bela Lugosi for me.

I think Bela Lugosi resembles the novel very well. Sir Christopher Lee was the more "handsome and elegant" version.

How about Jekyll and Hyde? I think March was the better Jekyll and Tracy's Hyde was magnificent.

Lugosi is the best IMO. That full body shot of him in the shadows at the beginning has always stuck with me.
Lee looked great, but he's only in the movie for 2 minutes.

I saw a General Audiences trailer for Deadpool, attached with Victor Frankenstein. Obviously it didn't have any R-rated material, but it still looks like it could be good.

Christopher Lee in the Jess Franco version they did around 1970. He was made up to look like Drac in the novel.

Mad Max got best movie of the year from the National Board of Review. I can see it from a purely artistic point of view. Nobody I think accomplished direction wise what Miller did this year.

I can see how someone would disagree from a story point of view, though.

Really really hope the Black and White version gets released in the near future. I've held off buying the Blu Ray until it does.

I think the simplicity of the story works in the movie's benefit because it's just a big, long chase movie, there's a lot of emotional subtext in there but the movie's premise and style is right at the forefront. It's definitely going into my top 10 of the year for sure, at least.

Had not heard about Submergence. Sounds like a different kind of story. Sounds also like Vikander might be spending a significant amount of her time on screen alone, which is intriguing. I mean, I'm just sold on her right now.

I thought Gods of Egypt sounded Exodus levels of awful, but it's directed by Alex Proyas so opening night for me.

I like the original Samson & Delilah with Victor Mature and a scenery chewing Angela Lansbury (!) as Delilah's butch sister (!). I mean, all props to the Lord God, but if ever a woman could make a man sell his soul, it's Hedy in that movie.
