At what point do you think Luke could've taken Han in a fist fight?

Now, I'm going to say that in ANH, Han could've beaten up Luke easily.

OTOH, by ROTJ, Luke was all force-powered and such and I think he clearly could've beaten up Han, in spite of the size disadvantage.

OTO-OH, I'm not 100% sure about ESB... what do you think?

Yeah, but Luke would have told his 'dad'...

...and Luke's dad could beat up Han's dad. [face_laugh]

I'd say maybe even in ESB Luke could have taken Han. Remember, Han lasts about .005 seconds in his "confrontation" with Darth Vader, while Luke fairs a little better.

Partly because of his weapon choice.

Keep in mind this is a fist fight, so no weapons are involved. Han's a pretty good puncher (ask Lando), so I'll go with him.

It would depend on if Luke could use the Force or not. If not, Han might could take him out until sometime in the post-ROTJ Expanded Universe.

If Luke could use the Force, he could take out Han much sooner than that.

I think Han would have beaten Luke in a fist fight up until Return of the Jedi.

Once Luke hooked up with Yoda, Han's got no chance.

Anytime after his Jedi training by Yoda.

It would be funny if Han's dad were Palpatine. :D

In ANH no way! But, in ESB, after his training
with Yoda, Luke is flipping and force jumping.
Even without using his powers, I think he
could have won. In Jedi no question.

Another question is, who's the better pilot?

I think Han could still have beaten Luke by the time of TESB. In ROTJ Luke would most likely win.

I'm betting Solo is the better pilot and has an easier time with the ladies.

    Fists?

Solo would just draw his blaster and fire.

He did it with Greedo and Vader. Greedo died. Vader had the force and lived.

We see Luke deflect blaster bolts with a saber but with his bare hands? Only Vader did that. If Solo took a quick shot at Luke he wins. Luke would be too surprized to react.

Then then Emperor pardons Solo and gives him a hefty reward.

Grand Moff Solo of the Corellian Sector has a nice ring to it doesn't it?

Force or no force, the only time Luke could take Han was when Han was blind. And maybe after he got tortured.

Now if you talking about the force, Luke would have his hands full with a youngling,

If the question is who could have punched harder and resisted punches better, I think Luke probably gained the edge at Dagobah. He got in shape pretty good.

However, fistfights are also about quickness, reflexes, and anticipating your opponent's moves, all of which are aspects of Jedi reflexes, as described in TPM.

By the time of the beginning of ESB, and probably much sooner, Luke had developed some force-related abilities. It is known that he was quite a good pilot before he even left Tatooine. These skills probably aided Luke in the battle of Yavin, and definitely on Hoth.

In a fistfight, I think that even in the end of ANH, and definitely before the beginning of ESB, while Luke's strength may have been less than Han's, his reflexes would have enabled him to avoid most of Han's blows and get in enough of his own to prevail.

I think Porkins could beat up Capt. Kirk.

    Xena could beat up Buffy.

And I'm pretty sure I could go 10 rounds with a kindergartener.

When Han is frozen in carbonite.

    LOL...interesting topic!!
Like others, ANH Luke would had been pounded by Han. I mean, c'mon...that guy in the bar easily threw him around.

Now, ESB Luke...yeah. But I would agree that ROTJ Luke could take on Han...He could use the Force to make his punches more powerful...kind of like the Matrix type of punches...I can't believe I actually thought of that..
