Anybody know anything about this event? I just read something about it on Rebelscum.com and was wondering if it was worth the drive down.

I don't know that much about it. One of the organizers came to one of our meetings to get our support. It is a small new con, so we were thinking of attending to show our support for smaller cons.

I'll see if I can dig up more info for you.

Yeah, it was advertised at D*C...it sounds pretty cool :D

I don't think I'll be able to go to it though :(

    God bless!

They do have a website up, if you Google it.

They have a lot of Star Wars folks coming in; many of whom have not been in this area before, to my knowledge.

I don't think this is of the calibre to be a whole weekend event, but it could be worth driving down if you want to collect some autographs. And the number of booths indicates that it might be a way to do some collectible hunting, as well.

Collector's Con was fun and I got a couple of autographs. For the first time ever I'm happy I got them but I thought that the might be free. It was a blast got alot of cool Star wars stuff.

    God Bless

I felt really bad for the folks running this con. I don't know what it is about this town that won't support anything outside of DragonCon!

And those poor actors! I doubt they made much money, if any.

Agree or not with the whole "pay for autographs" thing, that's the method, now. Many of these shows cover very little of their costs to attend, if any. So the autograph fees are their payment for the weekend. They can't have made much.

But still, the actors were all very nice. I enjoyed talking to them. And Michael Sheard is a great storyteller! I went ahead and bought his books and they're very interesting.

Did he "make a deal" with you? He did that to me and another lady...but I didn't have that much money... [face_laugh]

    They looked interesting though :D

I thought it was a nice Con for it being the first year :)

    God bless!
