Chic, IL ATOC ON IMAX?

HAS ANYONE ELSE HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT THIS?
I HOPE IT'S TRUE. IT'S SAID TO HAVE DELETED SCENES. I'VE NEVER BEEN TO ANY IMAX MOVIE,SO I HOPE IT'S TRUE.

 

Well, I read that it will be on IMAX in, like, Australia, but I'm not sure about the states. All I know, sorry!

 

It will on IMAX in the states in September.

There are two IMAXes that I know of in Chicago. One on Navy Pier, and the other in Addison, located with the Marquis Cineplex.

Just for the record guys,
7 bridges in Woodridge has an IMAX theatre.

I saw Lord of the Rings there and it was pretty cool.

It didn't fill up the whole wrap around screen, but it was still bigger than a traditional movie screen, I think...

A friend of mine keeps suggesting there
to see a movie or two. Well at least
there's a couple of possible Imax places
it could end up at!

OK....the ultimate question....

Will you do a line for the IMAX?

I have abandoned the idea of "storming the doors" for the DVD release....would rather do a line thing for another live showing at the IMAX....
problem is....I have to give a 30 day notice for a vactaion day...I am a terrible liar so would not be able to pull off the "I'm sick" thing....haven't called in sick in over 3 years...so they would not buy it!
So PLEASE....if you find out anything and plan anything ...please post!....

 

If you guys hear what screens it will be showing on in Chicago, could you please let your brethren in Milwaukee know? I called the Imax here and they said they have no plans to show it. So it looks like we're going to have to road-trip to your fine city to see it.

I believe CF plans for AOTC on IMAX are for Saturday the 2nd, actually. That doesn't mean y'all =can't= go on the 1st, just that all the really cool CF people will be there on the 2nd.... ;-)

 

Just backing up Thom. Yes we are planning in going on the 2nd and spending a day there. Please if you are planning to join us, just post with the time are you will be available.

Is it confirmed that it will be at the Navy Pier IMAX?

Maybe I will go both days...Friday in my Jedi Costume and Saturday in my Chicago Force t-shirt....

 

Weeeelll. While not officailly confirmed, we are just taking a guess that it will be there. We are bascially having "the plan" on what we are going to do, and apply it to the thearte that is showing AOTC. Right now, our first choice is Navy Pier, so I guess we should say that "We will be out at an AOTC IMAX thearte on Sat Nov 2nd, Place TBA."

 

Don't know if everyone has seen, but TFN is quoting an IMAX theater in Maine that says the IMAX version of AOTC is going to be shorter than the theater version. AOTC is 143 minutes, but the IMAX film carrier can only hold 120 minutes worth of film, so they are going to have to chop 23 minutes of film to get it to fit.

I vote for the nightmare scene, the shiak-riding scene, and pretty much anytime C-3PO talks to be the first things cut.

 

I called the Navy Pier IMAX Theater today. On October 1, it's changing management from Cineplex Odeon to being directly owned by IMAX. The current staff have no idea of what will be at the theater past when they'll be there on September 30. So, I'll have to call again in about 15 days.

October 31, Halloween. Any interest in
that if it happens here?

 

There are nast rumors going around that instead of ADDING scenes, that there are actually a few minutes CUT OUT of the IMAX version for some reason or antother. Nothing to substaniate it...but I thought I'd help distribute said nasty rumor around further.
