I was just going to post this in the countdown thread, but I'm aware that some people can't be bothered checking up on that every day to see what stuff I'm putting in there, so I've started this up for us all. Here's where we can all just have a chin-wag about the DVD as I'm sure we're all looking forward to it.

Here are the menus for the release. It's great to see it matches the TPM DVD. I'm just hoping that K-Mart and Myer in general get another of those cool covers that were with the TPM release last year....

    Any word yet Gath? :)

I'm hoping for that cool slipcase cover as well. :D

But on a side note, did AOTC get a rating change in Australia? Because if you look at this page, you will find that at the bottom of the cover scan, it says M 15+ instead of PG.

    What's with that?

With some DVDs the rating is changed because of the additional content.

I'd love to see another one of those special covers. I got my copy of TPM from them and so I have that version. It'd look weird if I had AOTC without it.

I can't wait to see the extras, too. The ones on TPM were the entire reason I bought the DVD and they were definately worth it IMO.

I noticed today in JB HiFi's little release pamphlet that AOTC has a release date of November 1. Hmmmm...

This better not mean the countdown is going to be for nothing.

You can always change the dates, wedge. :p

And I'd prefer it if it were November 1. At least then I'd know what to ask for for my birthday.

I'm going to stick with the original date for now. But I wouldn't mind an earlier release, just for the hell of it and have it in the collection all the sooner.

    :)

Do you think 20th Century Fox are going to use money from the DVD sales to fund the next Nazi party?

Thanks Gatherer, saves me asking at my local Kmart. Unfortunately they aren't the brightest bunch there.

Fox rep gave me the business promotional card for Star Wars. Essentially 4 glossy A4 pages, it has photos of the display units, and all I can say is - I am SOOOOOO keeping one them! I can have all my DVD's racked up on an AotC standee. :)

    Not long now!!! :D :D :D

Just thought i'd mention that a few real copies were auctioned off during Skyforce on the weekend. Both went for $50

The fox rep was on hand to authenticate the copies, so it seems that the dvd's are all in warehouse, just waiting for the green light to send them out

I noticed one went off on Ebay yesterday too. Could be a good sign considering how early JB HiFi are getting in some DVDs lately. ET was supposed to be out today but has been out for a week already.

Unfortunately Kmart is one of the places that'll keep it out the back.

I'll have to go in and pre-book a copy. I've noticed that if you have your name down for one they're not as tight-fisted about letting you get it early if it comes in early.

Does this mean that Episode 3 will be MA 15+?

restricted access message on that picture.

If your talking about how certain things were taken out to get the picture down to pg (such as the headbutt in british cinemas)

It makes sense to lucas to trim it down to make it pg, it's like spielberg and jurassic park, he though it deserved a M 15+ and wouldn't let his kids see it cos the thought it was to violent even for a pg

I still like the idea of Rick MacCallum dropping the 'S' word to some lazy Aussie backlot workers in the making of extras.

Does anyone have a scan of the slipcase from Myer yet? I still haven't seen it but have been assured it's got Yoda holding a lightsabre on it... not unlike my icon I'm hoping.

    :) Sweet!
