"Attack of the Clones" Is it a good title?

"Anyone who thinks "Attack of the Clones" is too cheesy a title for a series called "Star Wars" has said goodbye to objectivity."

I was on of the many who hated the title upon first hearing it. But, I have to admit that it's grown on me. I like it a lot now.

I bet Ewan McGregor won't hate the title as much after the movie grosses a kajillion dollars.

 

The title is ... perfect.

Yah I got to thinking it would be interesting to see people's original reactions. And also I've noticed a few who seemed to have changed their tune a little bit...

 

Well, the Weenie certainly didnt dislike the title itself. Its actually pretty cool! (EDIT: VERY cool!!) But, turns out, niether the "clones" themselves, nor the "attack of" them have anything to do with the "story" of Episode2, do they?

I like the title too but I gotta agree with the Weenie... where the the Clones do any attacking? And how does that title fit the overall film? It is probably the most inaccurate title yet.

 

When the title for Episode 2 was revealed I thought it was terrific and I still do.

 

I think that "Attack of the Clones" is a decent title. The problem is, as others have already pointed out, "Attack of the Clones" really isn't a very accurate title for this movie.

My favorite movie title is "The Phantom Menace." I thought that title was very creative, and it has such a wonderful ring to it. Plus, it makes you think--i.e., who is this phantom menace? (Palpatine?)

When I first heard it, I thought it was odd. I had had the same response when learning the title of Episode I, only stronger. Now I love them both.

 

I hated it then, and I hate it just as much now. I love the movie, but I can't force myself to call it by name. It's just Episode II to me.

Why not? I think it sums up the movie clearly. The Clones do attack.

 

The clones do attack--at the very end of the movie.

It seems to me that a title of the movie is supposed to summarize or hint at the main story in a movie. "Attack of the Clones" makes you think that the central theme of the movie is that clones are attacking, which is definitely not the case. And that is why I said that AotC is not a very accurate title.

 

When I first heard it I thought it sounded like the typical corny sci-fi movie title - but now it's grown on me.

 

I'm still a wee bit annoyed by the title. And everytime I pronounce it I hear a strange booming voice in my head singing:

"Attaaack of the killer tomatoooes! Attaaack of the killer tomatoooes!"

 

I'd be more concerned with those voices than with this title...

 

The tittle was okey and the movie was better.

 

Movie was awesome so i didn't give a damn bout the title.

 

It's no more stupid than The Empire Strikes Back.

its a good title- maybe it is more of a foreshadowing of ep3 instead of relating to 2. put up your other thoughts of what 2's title should have been besides AotC.

 

It's not the best title ever, but then again neither was ESB. AotC is a good movie, and that's what counts. I remember the day the title was released though; the boards nearly exploded... Everyone it seemed hated it.

 

I can say that I really have no reservations on any SW title.
