A request for clarification--

With regard to Attack of the Clone spoilers, I believe that the policy is "no spoilers in the Literature Forum," even in threads marked "spoilers."

Is that correct?

What about the policy with regard to information released by LucasFilm at TOS or HolonetNews.com?

I'm asking because I just ran across a spoiler in a thread marked "Spoilers." Not "AotC Spoilers"--just "Spoilers." Although the poster used "spoiler space," the spoiler was only three words long--something short enough that I could read it at a glance while scrolling down the page.

In short, I read a spoiler without intending to do so, and where I didn't expected to find one. I'm annoyed. This spoiler was not one previously released by LucasFilm.

 

I agree. If I read another inadvertant AOTC spoiler under the guise of "Oh, it's not really a spoiler" I'm gonna get s00per mad...

 

Greater tragedies have occured in life than reading a spoiler. Spoiler guidelines seem like common sense to me. I prefer not to be spoiled, but it happens, it's a gamble whenever anyone visits these forums. these guidelines need to be read by all those who accidently post spoilers, but if i inadvertently read one I won't let it ruin my day.

 

This must be brought up again so that everyone knows the ramifacations of posting spoilers without posting the spolier tag in the threads title.

 

AotC spoilers are a complete no go. In the past this forum was a special case in regard to them, but now it falls in line with the entires boards in that it is AotC spoiler free. No giving spoiler space, and no titles with "AotC spoilers" in them.

Kadue - does "No AOTC Spoilers. Period." apply to when the novel comes out as well? I figure we should clarify that for the masses as well...

 

Yes, it includes the novel when it comes out.

I think I'd better change my posting for the Last of my Kind thread where I got a little carried away with spoiler info I read on this site.

Sorry. Maybe I should've scan further down the list of threads before I posted. But Not many poeple think about that!

Anyway, I hope no-one's read it and flamed me!

 

A general rule of thumb: If it pertains to AoTC in any way, it's a spoiler. If it pertains to a new book or comic that has not been out for more than a month (two months is still a much better time period), it's a spoiler. If it pertains to a new game that's been out less than a month (ok, I know the spoiler rule in here pertains to books and comics, does it also cover video games despite the fact that they would tend to be discussed in a seperate forum?), it's a spoiler. If it pertains to an RPG source book that's not yet a month old (there's that two month thing again), it's a spoiler. If it pertain's to a magazine that's not been out for a month, it's a spoiler.

 

Another question Kadue - what about quotes from recent books (such as RD) in people's Sig Areas? I've noticed some RD quotes there, which are out of context (and thus make no sense) but I was curious anyways...
