Tucson ATTENTION...Cat is in the hospital again

If anyone gets an update please post it.

 

Update

OK, just talked to Cat and she is still in the ER and they have used her as a pin cushion.

It sounds like they are going to keep her and possibly do a procedure on her to get the blood clot broken up.

Cat is home again...Cat didn't want to go to the hospital...she was told by her primary care provider to go...the ER Dr said that the excessive bruising is quite normal when on blood thinning agents...but it's always a good idea to get checked out when we think it could be serious...I'm not taking any more chances with her health and she has told me she will say something from now on...FYI for those that were told that the pain will subside after treatment starts is a fallicy and will last several weeks instead...the ER nurse said they teach nurses to say that the pain will go away after the treatment starts

 

Other than rest and a nice vacation you two need anything?

Talked with Cat this morning and she was very tired. She even turned down a visit!

On another note she is in a little less pain today...she went and saw her nuerosurgeon this morning and everything as far as her back goes...things are good

Everytime the doorbell rings I keep expecting Mark Hamill!!! When is he coming, ya'll better get on the ball.. times a wasting

thanks for the support ya'll are always providing for Jake and I, we could not do it without you guys!! Feeling a bit better, will be spending a lot of time at labs and doctors offices for awhile. Looking forward to healing and enjoying life more and more every day!!

 

Yes, she was in the hospital again today. This time they say she must stay in bed until the swelling goes down in her leg. Then she can get up, but the moment it starts to swell she has to go back to bed again. There are differing opinions as to why this is happening to her, all they say for sure is that while it is extremely serious they are sure she is going to get over it, it will just take longer than we anticipated. On a good note, they did say the actual clot is a tiny bit smaller, so it is shrinking, just much slower than hoped for. For tonight she is on the couch, too sore and swollen to climb the stairs, hopefully tomorrow she can get back upstairs and in the bed. Feel free to call her, she is pretty frustrated with things right now, so don't be surprised if she sounds ticked off at the world, but she will get better, that I promise you. I won't be without my honeybunnykittycat.

 

Hey I talked to her this morning and what she said was that the clot was in her lung

Folks, please call her, go see her, please do whatever you can. She is depressed and very frustrated.

In my PERSONAL opinion, I think the hospital needs to keep her for a bit so that she gets the rest that she needs and this clot thing passes.

 

Hi there from the east coast...

I have been talking to Cat all morning via text messaging... She said she has a pulmonary embolism. She is scared and said that she really, really wants to see her kids. As I am typing this, she just let me know that they are going to perform surgery on her leg to remove the clot there and put her on IV blood thinners to dissolve the embolism. She also said that she is seeing a vascular doctor and a hemotologist sometime today.

As I get more updates from her, I will post here. Jake is at the hospital with her now.

My prayers are with her. I have faith that she will be fine... sounds like she is in good hands.

EDIT: Cat is on Ativan for her nerves. I just received news that they are talking about performing surgery this afternoon.

 

Lord, we pray that our KittyCat gets over this sickness that is ailing her, please Father..send you're healing Angels to do thier work, and cure this sickness. We trust an love you my Lord, and we know everythig will turn out in the end. Thank you my God! In the name of Jesus, AMEN!

 

Oh my goodness. I wish I could be there now. I'm praying for you Cat!

Hello all and good day to all

I have an update on Cathie...yesterday after we ran some errands...we came home and noticed her right leg had swelled up...we called the ambulance to take her to the hospital...come to find out that swelling is normal due to her situation and we were sent home late in the evening...we came home and I made dinner then fell asleep and she woke me up 2 hrs later complaining about a burning pain in her chest...so I took her back to the hospital at midnight...she sent me home shortly after we were seen by the nurse to get some sleep because I had been up for 30 hrs...anyway they did a CT scan and found that part of the blood clot had broke loose and went into her lung...as of 30 min ago she was moved to a room on the main floor from ER and is now just waiting to hear from the vascular specialist...she will probably have to undergo a procedure to remedy the situation...on a good note her sister has volunteered to take time off from work to fly to Arkansas to get Cathie's kids to bring them to us...Cathie was supposed to leave next Weds. morning to go and get them...so now we don't have to worry about that...Cathie is in no condition to fly right now
Anyway I will keep everyone informed as best as I can...I'm holding up ok but I've had a few smokes to help deal with the stress...Cathie is understanding about that

That is awesome news, Jake! When I was talking with her this morning she said that she wished the kids were there with her now. This is really great!

 

THIS is yet another case for NASA to get off their butts and create a transporter
