Tucson ATTENTION...Cat is in the hospital again

Hello all

I just got home...Cathie is doing ok and is in some pain but thay are giving her alternating doses of morphine and percocet...I left the hospital about 9:30 this evening then went to update some friends we know that play Scrabble on Tues. nights at my IHOP on Cathies condition then I went and got something to eat at a different restraunt...I didn't feel like IHOP food even though the Mgr probably would have fed me for free
Anyhow...Cathie had a surgical procedure done...that went well...where they placed a vascular filter in the vena cava (main vein leading back to the heart/lungs from the legs) in between the clot and her heart/lungs to catch any part of the clot that may break loose in the future...she still has the catheter from the operation in place and they will keep it in until the pain level and blood thinning agents are under control...she is more than likely going to be there for at least the next 3 days for that to take place
Once again I have to say thank you for all of the support and prayers for her recovery...as for me I'm holding up ok...in my mom's words "I'm running myself ragged with everything that is happening with her health and my work schedule"...like last night when Cathie sent me home from the hospital at 1 am...I got to sleep around 3 am Tues. morning and had been up since 9 pm Sun. night then I got back up at 7 am...so needless to say I'm a little tired and once again I go back to not getting a lot of sleep while she is at the hospital due to spending time with her in the morning and time at night before I go to work...she is on total bedrest and is not allowed to get up or roll onto her side because of the catheter she has
Well that's about it for now...I will try to give updates on her in the mornings before I go to bed after seeing her each day...until next post

Here's the skinny on that one...
She is on total bedrest while she has the vascular catheter in her belly...once the thinning agents are back at the level they need to be at...the catheter will come out and she will be able to walk around...the vascular specialist that did the procedure yesterday said that if she is not walking she needs to be laying down with her leg elevated bit it will definitely be a while before she sits down at the computer unless we can figure something out...but we don't have to duct tape her to the bed

Hello all

Not much to update you with...Cathie is doing okay...the blood thinning agents are basically where they need to be so I believe the staff will probably remove the vascular catheter today but I won't know until I see Cat tonight...Cat wants to stay in the hospital a few more days to make sure they have the blood agents at the theraputic level before she comes home...she is getting frustrated with going back and forth to the hospital...she says hi to everyone here and she hopes to be home soon and so do I...not to mention that Tiger, Shadow, and Shaak Ti miss her...I guess I don't do a good enough job giving them their treats
Sorry its been a few days since my last post but I've been basically spending a lot of time with her and sleeping when I'm home seeing as how I'm into my work week...this morning was a short visit because Cat wants me to catch up on sleep...so I figured I'd give everyone before I went to bed because you all have probably been wondering how she is doing

Hello and good day to all

Good news...I just got a call from Cathie at the hospital...She told me to come and pick her up to bring her home ...and she is happy to finally be coming home...this means the blood thinning agents (the INR level is at 2.5) is at the theraputic level now and should be able to be kept there...before the level kept fluctuating too much while she had been home...this time the doctors wanted to stabilize the level before releasing her...over the past few days it gradually increased by factors of .3...not to mention that it was also a holiday weekend which was the other reason for keeping her
Anyhow...I just wanted to let you know what was happening and yes I am definitely happy too and I am holding up okay as well

Make sure she adheres to Doctor's orders! No sense in pushing it and ending back in the hospital!

You guys..I have to be honest with you...I dont think Cat is entirely well to be out of the hosp yet...I mean she has fits of rage...she is so crazy she killed a beautiful Chocolate Cream Pie!!!!! WHHHHYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!?????

it was indeed a beautiful cream pie.. I think Tiger enjoyed what he licked off the floor of it as well... indeed.. come now.. surely you did not think I was ever sane/well to begin with did you?

I am at the computer at the moment, however..I am not supposed to stay on for long..
