Hi! I emailed around a week ago about writing an article for the
Westside Courier & Press. I just wanted to check back on that.

I would like to write an article on the Evansville's Star Wars Club
for the Westside edition...as long as there are some west-siders I
can focus on for the article. I think it would be a fun one, and my
editor has approved the idea. If someone could get back to me or let
me know if I should be contacting someone else, I would really
appreciate it.

I'm currently a Southeast-sider, grew up on the northside. I lived on the west side for a year when I got married...

 

My in-laws live in the West side, we moved.

 

I go to school on the west side.

 

Mike, you're technically West-side.. You live 1 block West of 41.

Why does this have to be so specifically West-side, anyway?

 

Because it's for the "West Side" special section of the newspaper.

And technically, 1 block west of 41 isn't the west side - just ask any west-sider

You have to live west of Fulton Ave, preferably west of Pigeon Creek to be a West-Sider. They say if you have to cross the creek to get home, you're not a west sider.

 

I didn't even know there was a west side specific edition of the paper ...

 

Let the paper have their fun and interview who they want. Either way it will be good publicity.

 

Yep... Pigeon creek is the real marker of Westsidedness (its a word). The Westside edition of the paper is a long held secret...

I will help out, it just depends on my availability. I will be home the entire week of from March 8-15. I need to go house shopping sometime that week, but if we can set a date for the interview/shoot, I will plan my schedule around it. I guess it all depends on how soon they want to run the piece.

As for eye candy, I'll have some droid stuff and the armor.

An option to get everyone involved would be to have the interview happen at one of us westsider's homes. Then, any number of other members could be part of it.

Brent or another person who lives in town, can you take point on this and figure out when she wants to run the story and what they are looking for?

 

It's not an "edition", it's like an insert in the regular paper. A Feature section. Like the comics!

 

And its the only edition that smells like the Fall Festival and Football.

 

I've gotten in contact with Christi and she's looking to come to the next GM so that she can take pictures and do interviews. I think it would be a really great thing if we could get a lot of ppl to show up and if those of us who have shirts would wear them to the meeting. This is a really great chance to get our name out!!

I have to come home for wedding related stuff, so I plan to be there. That gives us at least one west-sider there.

 

I wonder if they want pics of my massive...uh collection? If she is at the next meeting, does that mean that we have to play nice? I think that having a reporter with us will trump any attack that the gamer geeks can roll at us (literally with dice). We need to all wear our E'ville tees and the barrel needs to be there for pics with it. Is this also a good time to push an expo or CW event?

So, here's the deal with the barrel: it doesn't fit in my car. It currently lives in my parent's garage in Mt. Carmel. When I took it, I had a Grand Am that it barely fit in--now I have a Cobalt, which is too small to fit it. If anyone with a truck, van, or bigger car wanted to make the 45 min. (one-way) trek to Mt. Fudge, I could arrange with my parents for you to pick it up. Otherwise, the barrel's probably going to be MIA.
