Provo Auditions for Tomb of the Jedi - A local Fanfilm

Greetings Everybody,

This thread is to officially announce to these boards that casting has begun on a local Fanfilm called "Tomb of the Jedi." All casting sessions are available by APPOINTMENT ONLY on Saturday, August 11th and 18th. These auditions will take place in Lindon, just north of Orem. Here is a description of parts that remain to be filled for our fanfilm...

- Boba Fett -
-------------

Each person wishing to audition for the role of Boba Fett, should meet the
following physical requirements...

Height: 5' 9" - 6' 0"
Weight: 170 - 195 lbs
Shoe Size: US men's size 11 or smaller

* Good physical fitness and body control is a must as there will be a fair
amount of stunt work to perform

The audition will consist of a brief interview, suiting up in the costume(you can see this costume HERE),
and several on camera exercises.

Those wishing to audition should study the history, body language, and
mannerisms of the bounty hunter. This role is tougher than it might seem on
the surface. Boba Fett has a certain way of holding himself and to
accurately pull off this physical acting will be very challenging. I suggest
watching portions of the Original Trilogy and observing the way that Jeremy
Bulloch portrays the character. Also, the Star Wars webpage has some good

- Admiral Locke -
----------------

Admiral Locke is a male Imperial officer aged 35-50 years. This actor MUST be able to speak with a convincing British Accent, in particular the imaginary "Standard British Dialect." Locke plays a significant role in the film. His screen time is in the range of 5-7 minutes. All of Locke's scenes are with Darth Vader. ALL of Admiral Locke's scenes will be filmed in front of a blue screen in Lindon.

- Queen Gaeriel -
-----------------

Gaeriel is a young female queen aged 21-35 years. The actress should be able to portray a stately, yet personable manner. Accent is not an issue. All of the Queen's scenes will take place on location in Provo. Gaeriel has 10-12 lines to speak.

- Master Moltaire -
------------------

A male Jedi Master aged 60+ years. Role consists of one scene in front of a bluescreen in Lindon. 10-15 speaking lines.

- Commander Mytus -
---------------------

One of Queen Gaeriel's male guards aged 30-50 years. Most scenes will be in battle using a blaster weapon. There are 4-7 speaking lines. All of Mytus' scenes will be filmed on location in Goblin Valley, Utah.

Various other roles are available as extras and stand-ins. We need Stormtroopers, Tusken Raiders, Jawas, a Rodian, various alien creatures, Tatooine villagers, guards, etc. All costumes will be provided by our crew.

What kind of "stunts" does teh part of Boba Fett entail?

For sure I'm there if you need extra troopers. I'm 5'11"

 

Boba Fett will require a military based fighting for direct hand to hand combat:
Wide low stance, forceful and fast upper body movements (quick strikes and defense, nothing like a barrage of martial arts moves).

Stunts will include mainly the ability to be fought against without being injured, fairly ferociously. Moving and even falling in the armor without damaging it or yourself.

For the rest of the role, absolute physical self control is required. Fett moves in a very cold and smooth manor, always leading with his eyes. Calculated and paced, but never slow or lazy. Immediate motion to action when required, no hesitation toward cunning lethality; almost zero flash to anything he does, all very focused and direct. All business; he just happens to enjoy it.

Uhm.... let's see.... Yes, I do have a lunatic role available! JK

We will need several people for background shots. We have one crowd scene in "Tomb of the Jedi". It will be filmed on location in either the Little Sahara, Goblin Valley, or possibly Provo.

We will also need several extras for a cantina/tavern scene. Hopefully, there will be some people who won't mind wearing a latex mask for a while.

Need a Wookiee?
I certainly wouldn't mind a latex mask. I'd like to be a Stormie, but I'm a bit too tall. I'm not a thesbian/dramanite/drama-freak or whatever you want to call them, but I do think I can act.

 

I'm 5'10, 135 lbs, 16 yrs. old. It looks like I dont fit any of the main parts, but a extra would be fun. I'm athletic, if that helps.

What would you do with a 6'4", 225 lb. guy if I could make it up there for some filming? (which is almost impossible, but I'm just curious)

I would like to auditon for a part....but I a either too darn tall for a part or to short for another. Right in the middle of everything...sucks

 

Yeah, well, being too tall for EVERYTHING is worse.

 

Andakin I am the same height that you are....too tall to be troopers.....

We've had a several people audition in the last several weeks. We'll probably go for another 2-3 weeks on auditions.

When will Tomb of the Jedi come out? Now that is the question of the century! Hopefully, sometime in late 2002.
