    Yes,

These are getting posted pretty quick, but might as well get 2012 out of the way so we can start reading.

First choice: Scurge. Did you all see the blurb on this one? A Jedi historian takes on the Hutts to solve a crime, or something. The cover looks cool, and it is a paperback. From the web: In the heart of crime-ridden Hutt Space, a Jedi Scholar searches for justice.
While trying to obtain the coordinates of a secretive, peril-packed, but potentially beneficial trade route, a novice Jedi is killed?and the motive for his murder remains shrouded in mystery. Now his former Master, Jedi archivist Mander Zuma, wants answers, even as he fights to erase doubts about his own abilities as a Jedi. What Mander gets is immersion into the perilous underworld of the Hutts as he struggles to stay one step ahead in a game of smugglers, killers, and crime lords bent on total control.

Second: Crimson Empire I (a comic book). I think we had fun with Dark Empire, so why not a Crimson one? This comic collection is pretty cheep, and this reading will occur about when Crimson Empire III is finished-- so those over acheivers can read and discuss CEI, CEII, and CEIII. In this simi-sequal to Dark Empire, Royal Gardsman Kir Kanos seeks his revenge on those that sabotoged Palpy's clone. A brutal look at the elite of the Empire, and one of my favorite EU stories.

Third: Ever wonder what happened the day after the battle of Endor? Ever feel that Star Wars needed more T-rexes? Want to read the first time the rebels and the empire joined forces to fight an invading alien foe? This is the book for you.

Snark aside, all 3 of these are good reads. Well, I do not know what the new one would be like, but it does sound interesting. Different, but still Star Wars. And I am super excited about Crimson Empire III (but we can't start at 3 can we?) and Truce is a classic.

Got another idea? Post it. We will use it.

Wanna try Scurge just because it's new and I've read the other choices (which are good choices if the group would rather go with one of them).

I voted for Scurg on this one also. It sounds interesting, a crime mystery evolving around Star Wars... hmmmmm. [face_thinking]
