Tuesday night is the CC again! Up for discussion is the wonderful news out of SDCC, Bash-Flash if Kesh is there, and the always fun Show-and-Tell. Also on the agenda is just playing X-Box if I am the only one present again. If you know where to go then please arrive at 6:30. The meeting will conclude around 8ish. If you need directions PM me and I will get those sent out to you before the meeting.

I plan to be there. Uh, Hoosiertrooper might I suggest you re-read what you typed in your post to this topic. It reads rather funny...or disturbing. Poor Jennifer...tsk,tsk,tsk.

As for myself I'll bring a Dalek toy I bought recently. It speaks. It says in a stridently shrill voice EXTERMINATE! Kinda kewl in a Redcoat sorta way (are you reading this Stacky).

If we watch it, how long will it take you to bring us up to speed so the movie makes sense?

Ok...I'm going to give you all a B5 history lesson (takes deep breath).

FIRST, there was the Big Bang (most likely an overactive primordial 'white hole' singularity that vomited the first generation of mega-stars - which then in turn gravitationally collapsed into the galactic clusters). Then there was the dinosaurs, but they got too big and fat and just couldn't move very fast when a big rock slammed into the planet. Then along came the wiley austropithicus with his trusty caribou bone club (not to use on potential meals - but rather on keeping the harem of females in line)...

Wait I'm mixing B5 with a bit of 2001, History Of The World Part One, and Airplane.

Yodapimp is correct we need to have a B5 night. I can do a lecture on seasons 1 thru 5 and also cover all the TV-movies and Crusade. Show of hands on ratifying this idea?

I'm just along for the ride.

As long as I can play with all the Star Wars toys in the basement, I'll sit though anything. Especially if it makes me a more well-rounded nerd. :)

I think the V-Wing is even cooler than the ARC. Just a well made toy, and a great color! :)

I used gray clone pilots for the Arc and the black version for the V-Wing.

    Did the V-Wing have shields?

If so, thats very un-Imperial. We prefer to give place our pilots in as many disadvantages as possible. ;)

Starwars.com was no help at all. Here is what it said:

"During the Clone Wars, as the Jedi Generals tore into space combat aboard their tiny Jedi starfighters, they often led loyal clone pilots through twisting maneuvers against the automated space warriors of the Confederacy. The clone pilots did not have the gift of the Force to time their precision attacks and stunning maneuvers. They instead relied on their raw skill and the cutting edge technology at their control.
While the robust ARC-170s served as heavy fire craft, the nimble V-wing fighters were better suited to dogfight engagements against the speedy vulture starfighters and tri-fighters. The needle-nosed craft could hold a single clone pilot, with a partially covered astromech droid providing navigation and in-flight repairs. Bracketing the wedge-shaped ship were a set of flat wings extending above and below the ship. The wings were on articulated collars that allowed them to rotate 90 degrees for landing. Two pairs of laser cannons were mounted on the wing struts, providing the V-wing with rapid snap-fire capability.

After the demise of the Galactic Republic, many of the V-wing squadrons were simply redecorated and reassigned to become some of the first starfighters of the Galactic Empire. "

I think the v-wing squadron assigned to the Emperor had hyperspace ability.

I don't always take it as true, but this is according to Wikipedia.

So I bet the Emperor's escorts would have the hyperdrive like you said.

Then were X-Wings the first starfighter to have an integrated hyperdrive? It seems everything in the prequels needed a ring.

No, Y-Wings would have come before X-Wings. And I guess the Naboo Fighter would have come before that, assuming they have an integrated drive.

Do the Naboo fighters go into hyperspace? Thanks for the info, I did not know that the Ys were older than the Xs.

I assume they did since they got to Coruscant at the beginning of Ep. II. Then again, they might be specially fitted to escort senators and royalty. We didn't see the main squadron go to hyperspace in Episode I.

they could've been docked on the senatorial ship and come out to fly escort.
