Does anyone here have kids that they plan on bringing to the meet?
I was given a tip that the best place to go on the ship is the Bow. I guess that's the back. I'm not very nautical.
Bow is the front and the Stern is the rear of the boat. I grew up sailing and boating.
Not me. City boy all the way.
Just found out my shift at my new job is Midnight to eight so I would be geetting out of work on Saturday morning. I will need some sleep and plus the wallet will be a little tight right at the end of the month with rent due also.
I hate to miss a meet, but I will absolutley be there in September.
I'm out too . I was hoping that I would be able to go but I'm just gonna have to wait until next month.
So who is going?
I am, and so is my older brother.
I'm in. I ordered my ticket already.
I'm in like Flynn.
I shall be there. I got a brand new digital camera of my very own just so I could take nice pictures of the whales.
A little OT lesson:
[This is a fast-access FAQ excerpt.]
This phrase's first meaning was "in favour, assured of success,
in an enviable position". Some writers allege that it originated
in allusion to Edward Joseph "Boss" Flynn (1892-1953), a campaign
manager for the U.S. Democratic party during Franklin Delano
Roosevelt's presidency. Flynn's machine was so successful at
winning elections that his candidates seemed to be in office
But the phrase was popularized with reference to Australian-born
Hollywood actor Errol Flynn (1909-59), whose amorous exploits gave
it a second meaning: "being a quick seducer". The earliest
citation we have seen does refer to Errol Flynn (but not to
seduction): "In like Flynn. Everything is O.K. In other words,
the pilot is having no more trouble than Errol Flynn has in his
cinematic feats." (1945 in American Speech Dec. 1946, 310)
Now you know.....
And knowing is half the battle.
OK... and then...
no and then.....
I hope this thing isn't cancelled because of a storm or bad weather. We'll get our money back, but it would still be a shame.
Well, weather.com says scattered showers this morning through noon. Hopefully that remains true throughout the day.
I had a lot of fun today! I put the decent pictures up on my photo page:

We saw much more than what's in the pictures; those whales move pretty fast!
I think "whaletail" is a flipper. Not sure though. It could be a fluke.
Hey! No making fun of my picture names!
