Officer Nominations ? During the August meeting, nominations begin for our yearly elections in September. Nominations were taken at the meeting and will continue online for one month until the next meeting. Please check the Nomination thread to accept or decline any nominations.

Upcoming Events

John Williams at the Hollywood Bowl ? Saturday August 30th. John Williams once more performs his yearly concert at the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The concert is at 8, get there by 7ish. Group tickets: we have 2 tickets left if anyone wants them. PM me for details. Or, if you still want to go but don?t want to sit with us, regular tickets are still available as well on ticketmaster.

Star Wars Weekends at Legoland ? September 13 & 14. Star Wars Weekends returns to the Land of Plastic©. Cool stuff will be happening. Edgar mentioned that he might be able to get the group discount tickets into both the park and the new aquarium for $40.

The Force Unleashed Release ? September 16th. The awesome new game hopefully will actually be coming out soon. No plans yet for attending a release party.

September Monthly Meeting and Officer Elections ? Sunday September 21. Our September meeting will include our officer elections. Time and place are still TBD, but if you have a suggestion for a location, let us know!

Also, new members of the club; in order to participate in club elections, we ask that you have attended at least 3 official events (i.e. the recovery party, the August meeting, a movie lineup, etc) to vote in the elections. The September meeting counts as well. J

Conjecture 2008 ? September 27 & 28. Support our local SciFi convention! David Drake is this years? guest of honor. SDFF will have a table, so we need people to man it! We?re seeing about running a trivia panel, and we might be able to get a $5 discount on admission.

Invasion of the Star Trek Exhibit ? October. Please pick a date in October for a group invasion of the Star Trek Exhibition at the Air and Space Museum in Balboa Park.

CHOC Walk @ Disneyland ? Sunday October 19. Help support the Children?s Hospital of Orange County by joining the 501st/Rebel Legion team. You walk through both Disney parks before they are open to the general public, and can be in costume if you wish!

Disney?s Trick or Treat ? Someone mentioned at last month?s meeting about Disney?s Trick or Treat events at DCA if anyone?s interested.

Cub Scout Halloween ? Donna?s pack will once more be hosting their Halloween event, so anyone in costume that would like to go ?harass? the kids is welcome to sign up and help make these kids? Halloween a bit more fun.

Club Halloween Party ? Full of joy and guitar hero and no SW costumes. Needs to be planned.

Autism Walk ? November 1st. The Autism Walk returns to SD, and this time hopefully won?t be cancelled due to fires. Costumed or non-costumed, help support Autism Research and make a bunch of little kids? day.

Sea World!! ? Someday.
