So I'm really excited for this book, and think it will add a whole bunch of worldbuilding (especially excited for the Dianoga) but when I saw the author list for the 40 years of star wars book I was disappointed, here is a complete breakdown.

    1. Ben Acker
    • He wrote Join the resistance, nothing else that insanely special about him but whatever
    2. Renee Ahdieh
    • This lady has never written a Star Wars book in her life, very weird choice
    3. Tom Angleberger
    • FINALLY someone I can get behind actually participating in this novel.
    4. Ben Blacker
    • again just wrote Join The Resistance
    5. Jeffery Brown
    • Wrote all those kids Star Wars books, so kind of a 'meh' choice.
    6. Pierce Brown
    • Another never written a Star Wars novel person.
    7. Meg Cabot
    • Never written a Star Wars novel, and is writing for the forty years of book
    8. Rae Carson
    • Never written a Star Wars novel
    9. Adam Christopher
    • Never Written a Star Wars novel
    10. Zoraida Cordova

    11. Delilah S Dawson
    • She Wrote Perfect Weapon, and is writing Phasma
    12. Kelly Sue DeConnick
    • Never Written A Star Wars book, starting to think Del Rey has a fetish.
    13. Paul Dini
    • Never Written A Star Wars book
    14. Ian Doescher
    • Wrote the William Shakespeare Star Wars books.... sigh
    15. Ashley Eckstein
    • Okay I get it she's Ashoka, but SHE HAS NEVER WRITTEN ANY PIECE OF FICTION IN HER LIFE, WHY IS SHE HERE.
    16. Matt Fraction
    • Never Written A Star Wars Novel, bout to lose my mind.
    17. Alexander Freed
    • Wrote Twilight Company
    18. Jason Fry
    • Wrote a whole bunch of guide books, and smaller novels.

    • Wrote Dark Disciple, Inferno Squad, Others.
    21. Claudia Gray

    23. E.K Johnson
    • Wrote Ashoka
    24. Paul S Kemp

    25. Mur Lafferty

    26. Griffin McElroy

but overall for a book about 40 years of star wars, these authors are garbage.
I would like to have a serious conversation with whoever picked these authors.

Every author who has ever written Star Wars at one point had a project that was their first ever Star Wars work. Try to keep an open mind, just because someone hasn't written Star Wars yet doesn't mean they'll be bad or an ill-fit for Star Wars.

    Where to start?

    I. You don't need a separate thread every time you want to express an opinion.

II. There's an existing thread on this book.

III. You're severely in conflict with board rules about author-bashing and civility. Calling authors "garbage" is a personal attack we won't tolerate, and your post doesn't have any basis in criticism or commentary. It's one thing to say "I did not like X book for Y reasons, or I wasn't a fan of Z author's work in A book because of B reasons." This is unmitigated bile and the only basis for your opinion seems to be "this person hasn't written Star Wars before". Have you even read half of these authors?

IV. This list contributes absolutely nothing to this forum in terms of discussion or content.

    Absolutely unacceptable.
