RPR Archive Autumn 2006 Role Playing Forum Awards: WINNERS ANNOUNCED!!

Yea, it always feels good to get nominated, even if there isn't a super duper chance they will win. Just look around for games that look good or players who you have played with who stand out a little...

 

Well, let me be the first to follow through and turn this more into a fun event by nominating oppaizombie for best player and KissSpooky for best GM for High Devil Sands. Oppaizombie impressed me right out of the gate with an excellent and developed character, and long and thoughtful posts. And his account was only created this month, which means he has earned the "totally rockin' new guy" award. KissSpooky is impressing me because it's one of the few RPGs that I've ever felt a physical need to join that overrode my normal time constraints. I haven't finished my character yet, but still, I've got to give the guy credit.

On the Star Wars front, I'll nominate SephyCloneNo15 for playing one of the few characters in the 007 series who isn't a homicidal sociopath. His droid is, but that's just a technicality (since the droid is still incapable of acting upon those impulses- see what I have to work with?). Keep fighting the good fight.

Best Roleplayer - I think this is legal? I nominate our awesome Moddess, NaboosPrincess(why can't you have easier colors to imitate?) for her excellent work as Elizabeth Swan in Pirates III
Best RPG - ArchAngels and Alchemists, because I enjoy reading it...
Best New RPG - Hasn't started yet, but I can already see all the talent we have from the character sheets, Podracer II:Need For Speed

I'll explain why I nominated Archangels and Alchemists for Best RPG. A while back Winged mentioned this RPG idea he had involving a direct threat to the Force. I was intrgued. How would this work? A drug that could wholly surpress the Force in a being for life. My God, I say, think about the reaction the FORCE would have. It'd fight back. It'd manifest itself. Oh yes, he said. And now, we've got a Force philosophy game (can you believe it, a Jedi game with NO Jedi) in the RPF with deep and textured characters and an intriguing plot that deserves a nomination for Best RPG.

I am surprised to say the least, taken aback to say a little bit more. LightWarden, thank you for appreciating what I have brought to the forums so soon after joining. Frankly, the "totally rockin' new guy" award is more of an honour than the nomination. But thank you for both.

 

I'm sure if you get such a comment from Light, it is extremely well-deserved. Nice work oppaizombie.
