The Very Secret Diary of Appa


Entry One

Bonded with my airbender mate today. Kinda bald, but has good snacks. He?s also the Avatar (and being the Avatar?s sky bison can?t hurt my street cred).

Not sure how I feel about his airbending antics yet.

 

No, it most certainly can't hurt his cred.

It certainly sounds like a diary entry that Appa would make.

Entry Two

Teamed up with my boy to play a trick on the stuffy monks. Turns out Aang is a trickster. And heavy. I?m thinking he could stand to tone up a little more.

Wonder if he?s been sneaking some of those cakes instead of throwing him, like Monk Giatso said to.

 

They're good cakes! Ah, now he meets Aang. And thus a friendship is born. Can't wait for more.

Entry Three

Aang decided to take off in the middle of the night. Not that I was ASLEEP or anything.

Accidentally (I swear! I wasn?t trying to throw him off on purpose . . .) flew directly into a storm (oops). Turns out that Aang really is heavier than he looks ? he dragged me down with him! And now he can?t bend us out of here.

(What kind of Avatar is he, anyway?)

So now I?m stuck here in this big ball of ice. Wonderful.

 

No, Aang! Appa needs naptime!

Next few diary entries are gonna be rather... colorful.

I?m FINALLY out!! Woohoo, fresh air!! It feels like we?ve been down there for a hundred years!

 

Wow, that time went fast. What did they do while on ice? Probably played I spy. LOL

 

Oh, Appa. You have no idea...

 

I wonder, is he going to panic because he can't fly, or is he going to be "Piss off, you froze me in the iceberg for a hundred years, I can't possibly be bothered to fly..."?

Entry Six

Just because I?m a sky bison doesn?t mean I don?t like water the same as everyone else. Yeesh. Nothing wrong with floating around a bit while I get my air legs back under me. That Water Tribe kid can think what he wants. Just wait. I?ll show him.

 

LOL! Appa can be such a ham sometimes!

 

Oh, poor Sokka. Never anger something that can swallow you whole.

Entry Seven

So . . . turns out we WERE stuck down there for a hundred years. (Great job, Avatar Aang! Great. Job.)

Apparently now the Fire Nation is full of bad guys, most of whom want to attack the rest of us . . . which they did, after Aang SET OFF A FLARE ON THE SHIP HE WAS TOLD TO STAY AWAY FROM.

(No wonder the monks wanted to give him better lessons. He needed them.)

Up side: he managed to defeat Prince Zuko, heir to the Fire Nation and general irritant.

Down side: I now have two extra people on my back, and we?re planning a field trip to the other side of the world.

Cannot. Wait.

 

Kind of a glass-half-empty kind of Sky Bison, isn't he?

 

A sarcastic flying bison. Not something you see everyday. Lol. the last three post have been pretty amazing.

I like the third one the best tho.

 

No, can't wait. Yeah, Aang kinda screwed the pooch there, didn't he.

Entry Eight

Aang decides to head home for a visit (yay! Finally, some decent food, a warm bed ? what else could a sky bison ask for? Except, you know, a lighter load . . .). Turns out the Fire Nation wiped everyone out about a hundred years ago. So, it turns out, not exactly the magical homecoming I?d expected.

And then there was the strange glowy thing Aang did, but we?re talking about me right now.

 

And we all know who's really important. Right, Appa?

Very amusing, as always.

Entry Nine

Headed to Kyoshi Island for some MUCH-needed R&R (well, actually so Aang could be stupid and show off) with the gang and Momo, the newest member (luckily, lemurs and I get along very well). Turns out we?re still being followed by the Lord of the Flames, who cut the vaycay short when he set fire to the place.

Though how he followed me there, I don?t understand. I?m a freaking SKY BISON.
